Last year, almost 750 students participated in this day dedicated to health, safety, and preparation for the season ahead. Artist Rachel Wright had been living with shoulder pain that was starting to limit her ability to create glass-blown art. She sought the help of USA Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Surgeon Brad Clay, M.D., who performed rotator cuff surgery on her shoulder in 2025. As she recovers, Wright can again pursue her passion for making art and mentoring her students at the University of South Alabama.
