As a Therapist, hearing about these recent events are so disheartening. Knowing peope are suffering in silence, grieves my soul. If you or someone you know is suffering with mental/emotional pain or illness, PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT.

We are human and we all experience mental and emotional pains many times in our lifetime. And at time, these experiences are traumatic and disabling. PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT.

It is estimated that approximately 1 in 5 Adults live with a mental illness. PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT.

Fifty percent (50%) of mental health problems are established by age 14. PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT.

Access to mental health services can be challenging and sometimes inadequate, but quality resources are available. PLEASE DO NOT REMAIN SILENT.

In our community, we have MANY mental health providers that offer quality services such as private therapists (like me at LPC Services, LLC Behavioral Health Specialist), psychiatrist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse practitioners, school counselors, social workers, case managers and other support services. Many do not know that access to some private therapists can be free through your employer's EAP (employee assistance program). Just contact your human resource manager to inquire if your company offers these CONFIDENTIAL services.

Let's Prepare For Bed😴

~Begin by taking a deep breath and hold it for 1 second…exhale and relax.
(Pause for 1 second)

~~Take a 2nd deep breath, as deep as you can, and hold it, count for 2 seconds…exhale and relax. (Pause for 2 seconds)

~~~Take a 3rd deep breath, as deep as you can, and hold it for 3 counts…slowly exhale and relax. (Pause for 3 seconds)

~~~~Take a 4th deep breath as deep as you can and hold it 4 counts. As you exhale, imagine blowing out your birthday candles slowly, then relax.
(Pause 4 seconds)

~~~~~Take a 5th Deep Breath and Hold It 5 Counts. As You Slowly Exhale, Imagine Blowing Out Any Remaining Stress You’ve Been Holding On To From Your Toes To The Top Of Your Head. Try to Feel the Sensation of the Stress Leaving Your Entire Body. Relax & Pause for 5 seconds or as long as you need.

When You Are Ready, Give Yourself Permission To Transition From Your Deep Breathing Space To Your Next Bedtime Routine.

If you want to repeat the progressive breathing method, feel free to do so. Then, transition when you are ready. You Are In Full Control Of This Space.

Progressive Breathing Exercises helps to release the endorphins in our brain’s chemistry that causes us to feel relaxed. These exercises can be performed whenever you need to, at home, at work, in the school car line, and even before making key decisions. Some feel the benefits of Breathing Exercises immediately, while others may take some time and practice. Whatever your experience is, You Are Perfectly Fine ❤️
