Sometimes, the most powerful ways we grieve are also the softest.

Connection is a healing path back to yourself. So reach out, let someone in, sit across from a friend, or share a moment with someone you care about. Because we’re not meant to do this alone; we’re meant to heal together.

Here’s a reminder, backed by science, that choosing connection is choosing health, happiness, and transformation:

🤝 55% of Communication Is Nonverbal — Sometimes it’s not what we say, but simply our presence that speaks volumes.

🤝 Disconnection From Others Leads to Increased Stress, Depression & Anxiety — When we feel isolated, we suffer. Togetherness helps ease that weight.

🤝 Lack of Connection Is Worse for Your Health Than Obesity, Smoking & High Blood Pressure — Relationships matter more than we realize. Our health depends on them.

🤝 Connection Strengthens Your Immune System & Helps You Recover From Disease Faster — Healing - physically, mentally, and emotionally - happens in community.

🤝 In-Person Connection Increases & Strengthens Social & Cognitive Brain Development — We grow, learn, and become more ourselves when we’re connected.

I’m thankful virtual options exist but these are some of the reasons why I generally prefer in-person therapy. Being in the presence of another person opens up the opportunity to build trust and be vulnerable in a way that can bring so much healing 💙

If you face a problem with someone, try to handle it early. Solve it. If you bring something up with someone and they will not acknowledge or address it, you no longer have a problem… you have a pattern. It’s time to pull a couple of other people in and address the issue together. And if that doesn’t address the developed pattern, it might be time for a necessary ending.

This isn’t a willful breaking of a relationship simply for the sake of doing it. It’s a progression of boundaries from “Please don’t treat me this way” to “I will not allow you to treat me this way” to “Since you continue to act in this way, I am going to remove myself from the situation.” This is the same way your immune system attacks a threat to your health from the enzymes that fight off sickness, then upping the ante to the acid in your stomach that kills off anything trying to attack you, to the T-cells wrapped into the fabric of your body that act like soldiers to cut the illness out.

These boundaries protect you and others from the problematic patterns of others.

Looking for green flags is just as important as looking for red flags when beginning a new relationship

Looking for green flags is just as important as looking for red flags when beginning a new relationship

Finding a great partner isn’t about luck, it’s about the green flags that show they’re worth your time. 🍀

This St. Patrick’s Day, look for signs of a healthy relationship: respect, responsibility, communication, and the ability to handle conflict with care. A strong connection isn’t built on chance, it’s built on understanding and effort.

What’s a green flag you look for in a partner? Which one matters most to you? 💚 Read the full blog post here: https://bit.ly/4itwwqi

Everyone reacts to newness differently and that’s okay! Being aware of how you take on something new, surrounding yourself with support, and keeping these reminders front of mind are keys to finding success amidst change.
