My Seaside Myo

My Seaside Myo Helping patients to regain the joy of eating, speaking, breathing, and even sleeping more soundly.

My name is Ronda Davis and I have been in the Dental field for 30 years now. Over a year ago, I began a new and exciting chapter in my career in Orofacial Myology. Since then I have been able to help many patients that have developed some type of oral and/or facial disfunction of the muscles. I love seeing the progress of my patients as their pain and disfunction decreases.

When your tongue (the genioglossus muscle) is restricted, or tied down, there are many problems that can arise. We provide a very non-invasive treatment, along with some specialized excercises to retrain the tongue, to get this very important muscle back to doing all the things it is suppose to do!

Orofacial Myo…what? I had been a Registered Dental Hygienist for @25 years before I had even heard this term. But since then I have become one of the only Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist in the South. It is an area of health and wellness only few people actually treat. Orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) are patterns involving oral and orofacial musculature that interfere with normal growth, development, or function of orofacial. OMDs can be found in children, adolescents, and adults. OMDs can co-occur with a variety of speech and swallowing disorders. OMD may reflect the interplay of learned behaviors, physical/structural variables, genetic and environmental factors. My job is to identify these disorders, treat the ones that I can and get further help for the ones that I can’t.
I am so excited to bring this treatment option to Mobile and the surrounding area. Please reach out to me for any questions or concerns!
