Dr. Mitchell joined RGG Cardiology after assisting with healthcare needs in Maui following the Lahaina fires, where he contributed his expertise during a critical time for the community.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Dr. Mitchellās academic and professional journey has taken him across the country. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Florida State University, followed by medical school at Tulane University, where he graduated with Honors while also completing a Masterās in Public Health (MD, MPH).
His internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship in Colorado provided extensive clinical training, along with research experience focused on advanced heart failure treatments. Outside the hospital, he embraced the regionās outdoors, becoming an enthusiastic skier and mountain biker.
Dr. Mitchell later spent 15 years in private cardiology practice in Portland, Oregon, before relocating to Maui and eventually making Mobile, Alabama his next chapter. He was drawn to the area and to the strong culture of patient care at RGG Cardiology.
As a general cardiologist, Dr. Mitchell values the ability to provide comprehensive care to his patients while collaborating with an exceptional team of physicians and healthcare professionals.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys gardening, landscaping, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, who is also a physician, live on the water in Spanish Fort, and are proud parents of four children.
