How to Slay Thanksgiving!

Hey

In this video, Coach Brian provides seven tips on how to maintain your health and fitness during Thanksgiving.

Firstly, he encourages taking advantage of the extra calories by doing a heavy leg lifting cycle to help burn more calories.

Secondly, he suggests implementing a 16:8 intermittent fasting schedule either before or after the meal.

Thirdly, he advises loading up on protein and consuming double the usual amount on your plate.

Fourthly, he mentions the challenge of measuring and balancing your nutrition due to the high calorie intake on Thanksgiving, and recommends adjusting your intake for the next two days accordingly.

Here's a healthy recipe for Egg Stuffed Peppers that serves 2 people, along with a grocery list:

Ingredients:

- 2 large bell peppers (any color you prefer)
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup diced spinach
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Grocery List:

- 2 large bell peppers
- 4 large eggs
- 1 onion
- 1 tomato
- 4-5 mushrooms
- Fresh spinach leaves
- Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh parsley or cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).

2. Cut the bell peppers in half vertically and remove the seeds and membranes, creating four pepper halves.

3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Add the diced tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.

5. Place the bell pepper halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.

6. Divide the vegetable mixture equally among the pepper halves, filling them about halfway.

7. Create a small well in the center of each pepper half and crack an egg into each well.

8. Season the eggs with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, if desired.

9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the egg whites are set, but the yolks are still slightly runny.

10. Once done, remove the stuffed peppers from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

11. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro, if desired, and serve warm.

5 fitness routines you need to keep for balanced health

Hydration - Aim to drink Β½ your bodyweight in ounces of water a day to keep properly hydrated, or simply drink when you notice signs of dehydration. Either way, you’re going to be drinking roughly the same amount. Eat enough sodium, magnesium, and potassium with your meals to promote balanced electrolytes.

Sleep - Your body functions best when getting an average of 7-9 hours of deep sleep a night. Set your bedtime to allow enough time for you to get quality sleep

Stress Management - Being stressed out can really hinder your fitness . Practice deep belly breaths throughout the day and take small breaks away from work, or even better, get some time in the sunshine to help relax your nervous system. Find methods that work for you to feel your best. Gratitude and journaling is our secret sauce

Movement - For strong bones, quality mobility, improved balance, a healthy heart, and spinal support regular strengthening and stretching exercises are a must. Decide your fitness goals and get movement that supports them. Daily steps for 10,000 , and a structured 10-15 minute workout 3-5 times a week is ideal.

Nutrition - Fuel your body for optimal energy. A good rule of thumb is to have 3 colors on each plate besides brown. A colorful plate is packed full of vital micronutrients. Also aim for a protein, healthy fat, and complex carb in each snack and meal to help keep you satiated and curb excess sugar cravings. Set a day to stock your fridge and keep simple ingredients on hand to support your busy week
