Family Health : healthcare for all generations : Family Health - Healthcare for all generations Since 1979, Family Health has provided comprehensive primary care services throughout Mobile County.

There are now ten health center sites spanning from Mount Vernon to Tillman’s Corner to Baldwin County. The sites, which are all designated as Federally Qualified Health Centers, are strategically located where the needs are the greatest and access to care is most limited. Family Health is accredited by the Joint Commission and has been designated as a Primary Care Medical Home through the Joint Commission since 2013. Our mobile health unit, which features two state-of-the-art exam rooms, also brings primary care and wellness screenings to residents within communities who might not otherwise have the means to travel to a health center. The Mobile County Health Department, the parent organization of Family Health, is a Federal Tort Claims Act deemed facility. The mission of Family Oriented Primary Health Care Clinic, Inc. (FOPHCC) is to provide high quality, culturally diverse primary care, preventive health services, dental care and social services to all those in need regardless of ability to pay. We are a partnership between the Family Oriented Primary Health Care Governing Council and the Mobile County Health Department, connected by a joint vision of a healthier Mobile County and unified in a mission "to serve the residents of Mobile County by providing high quality comprehensive primary care, regardless of social circumstances or ability to pay, for the improvement and protection of the public's health".

Striving to do our best can be a beautiful motivator but when “good enough” never feels enough, perfectionism can quietly erode our wellbeing. This week we'll explore Perfectionism—how it shows up in our thoughts, relationships, and work, and how to loosen its grip without letting go of our values. We’ll dive into the roots of perfectionist tendencies, the hidden toll they take on mental health, and evidence-based ways to build self-compassion, flexibility, and resilience. https://alabama.crediblemind.com/lists/perfectionism

Simply put, change is inevitable. Sometimes it comes in ways we anticipate, other times it arrives uninvited and disrupts our daily rhythm. Whether we long for it, resist it, or find it suddenly at our doorstep, learning to move with change rather than against it can make the process far smoother.

Right now, one of those changes is showing up in a very practical way: adjustments to the traffic patterns around the downtown Mobile County Health Department campus. While they may cause some initial discomfort or inconvenience, approaching these shifts with patience and flexibility will make the transition safe and easier for everyone.

National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day (NHAAD) is observed each year on September 18 to focus on the increasing number of people who, because of major advancements in HIV treatment, are living long, full lives with HIV. The awareness day also calls attention to the unique health and social needs, as well as the challenges of HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care among people who are aging.

Family Health, the Mobile County Health Department’s primary care division, began providing care to people living with HIV/AIDS in 1987. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Family Health strives to meet the needs of the underserved within the agency’s service area.

The only way to know your HIV status is to get tested. Knowing your status gives you powerful information to keep you and your partner healthy.

The City of Mobile plans to make several changes to the traffic flow around the Keeler Memorial Building (251 North Bayou Street). On the WALA newscast last night (https://www.fox10tv.com/2025/09/16/changes-coming-one-way-streets-mobile/), it announced the changes will begin next week.

The City of Mobile (https://www.cityofmobile.org/downtown-street-optimization/) said Saint Anthony Street will not be a yield-flow street once it is converted. It is wide enough to act as a traditional roadway with one lane of travel in each direction and parking on at least one side of the street.

Jefferson Street on the western side of the Keeler Memorial Building will become a two-way road. Parking will no longer be allowed.

The City of Mobile says there will be a “partial” change to Bayou Street. On this map, it shows the section closer to Government Street becoming two-way. At this time, the section in front of Keeler connecting to the visitor parking lot is not marked on the map. If this changes, more information will be provided.
