UPDATE (1/22): For the safety of our patients, employees and volunteers, all USA Health physician offices and clinics, including the Mitchell Cancer Institute locations in Mobile and Baldwin counties, will remain closed until noon Thursday, Jan. 23, due to dangerous road conditions. For any questions regarding your scheduled appointments or procedures, please reach out to your provider’s office.

USA Health acute care facilities, including University Hospital, Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Providence Hospital and our Freestanding Emergency Department on Hillcrest Road will remain open.

Elective procedures and diagnostic tests will be delayed until noon Thursday, Jan. 23.
Please note hospital visitation may be limited during severe weather events.

For the safety of our patients, employees and volunteers, all USA Health physician offices and clinics, including the Mitchell Cancer Institute locations in Mobile and Baldwin counties, will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, because of the threat of severe winter weather and dangerous road conditions.

USA Health acute care facilities, including University Hospital, Children's & Women's Hospital, Providence Hospital and our Freestanding Emergency Department on Hillcrest Road will remain open. All elective procedures have been canceled for Tuesday. Please note hospital visitation may be limited during severe weather events.

John Houston, M.D., and Jonathan Campbell, M.D., recently joined USA Health West Mobile Primary Care. With more than 50 years of combined experience in treating patients of all ages in the primary care setting, both Houston and Campbell are excited to bring their expertise to USA Health West Mobile Primary Care. They are both accepting new patients.

USA Health’s employees were treated to a surprise holiday gift Friday – soft blankets in pretty jewel tones, described by leaders as symbolizing the “warmth and security you have provided to those who have come to USA Health for life-saving care.” Employees at the Mitchell Cancer Institute and USA Health’s outpatient clinics also received their deliveries of holiday meals provided by Louis and Melinda Mapp, who graciously continued the community tradition of showing support for healthcare heroes.

USA Health hospitals will continue normal operations. USA Health Physicians Group clinics and Mitchell Cancer Institute will operate on a normal schedule Wednesday. Employees with safety concerns regarding travel to work should consult with their supervisors.

Tuesday morning update on Tropical Storm Gordon: USA Health hospitals will continue to operate on a regular schedule. USA Physicians Group and USA Mitchell Cancer Institute are closely monitoring the weather conditions and will remain open for as long as possible today. Patients are advised to monitor as well and make appropriate decisions based on travel time and conditions. USA Health staff should check with supervisors on work schedules.

As of Friday afternoon, USA West Mobile Primary Care plans to be open Monday as usual. Patients and employees are reminded to use good judgment in making travel decisions. Patients are asked to call if they are unable to make their appointments, and employees are to contact their supervisor if they have extenuating circumstances and are unable to report as scheduled.
