My name is Jordan. My yoga journey started 5 years ago when I thought I had to look like every instagram yoga model out there. Constantly posting pictures of myself in awesome poses (without warming up first), certainly surprised I didnât injure myself. Little did I know the word âyogaâ mean to âuniteâ, there was much more deeper than the surface about what yoga is truly all about.
Long story short: After 5 years of practice, two babies, and lots of postpartum trial-and-error prescription anti-depressants, I knew my life had deeper meaning and I found my calling.
I started Yoga Teacher Training August 2018 and ever since then my outlook on life has change dramatically. Because Iâm not much of a writer, hereâs a little before/after....
So any who that's my shpeal --Here are some class descriptions if youâd like to take a closer look at what 5 Elements can do for you! Iâd love to assist you on YOUR journey!
Beginner Yoga - A class for those newer to you or those wanting a basic flow class. We will introduce the foundational yoga poses, learn pranayama (breathing) techniques, and basic postural alignment. All levels welcome.
Chair Yoga - A great practice using the chair for seated poses, and the chair as a balance point for standing poses. Perfect for those who are unable to get up and down off the floor comfortably or anyone who likes a gentle yoga class. All levels welcome.
Pilates - Each class will work to balance all muscle groupsâ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. All levels welcome.
Vinyasa - A flow class type characterized by stringing poses together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. All levels welcome.
Yoga Sculpt - This practice combines cardio and weights, making it unlike your typical yoga class and more of a workout class. Main focus is strength and flexibility. Yoga knowledge preferred.
Yoga HIIT - (High-Intensity Interval Training) Juxtaposing intense bursts of movement such as squat jumps with short periods of rest. 45-minute class that is cardio-based. Yoga knowledge preferred.
Restorative - A practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. Holding poses for 3-5 minutes at a time, your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. Itâs a unique feeling because props, rather than you muscles, are used to support your body. All levels welcome.
Creative Movement - Kids classes that will teach basic steps and poses of yoga & dance. Ages 3-6 will learn basic jumping, running, ect. They will explore their own styles through the use of imaginative music and games in a safe, positive environment. **Must Pre-register ahead of time**
