Davie County Health and Human Services includes five different divisions: the Division of Public Health, the Division of Social Services, Senior Services, Davie Center for Violence Prevention, and Veteran Services. Davie County Health and Human Services is the county agency that includes the Division of Social Services, the Division of Public Health, Senior Services, Veteran Affairs, and the Davie Center for Violence Prevention. To improve citizen engagement and foster productive interaction with Davie County Government, all questions and comments intended for the County of Davie should be submitted by using the Public Comment Form available here: https://docs.daviecountync.gov/Forms/comments and on the Davie County website. Come join us for Public Safety Day on Saturday, October 4th in Downtown Mocksville. This event lasts from 3 pm- 8pm!

Davie County Sheriff's Office will be there, along with many other public safety agencies, including Davie County Fire Departments, EMS, Rescue Squad, Davie County Fire Marshal Service, and Davie County 911, along with the SBI and National Guard. Many community organizations will also have booths set up for information about their services and opportunities!

Live music, free food and drink, bounce houses for kids, and even a dunking booth!

🚨 PRODUCT RECALL 🚨

❗Sprout Organics has initiated a voluntary recall of one lot of Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach because it may contain elevated levels of lead.

❗Affected items, sold in Walgreens and some independent stores in the US South region with most sales occurring between September and December 2024.
• Sprout Organics® Sweet Potato Apple and Spinach 3.5 oz pouch; Lot code:4212;Experation Date:10/29/2025

❗Exposure to lead, even at low levels, may increase blood lead levels. Additional signs and symptoms of lead exposure are more likely with acute exposure to higher levels of lead or chronic exposure to lead. The effects of lead depend upon the amount and duration of exposure and age/body weight. If a child is exposed to enough lead for a protracted period of time, this can affect learning and development or cause other long-term health problems.

❗ Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is recalling Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese, and various products containing this cheese, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

❗ Affected items, sold between July 1 and August 12, 2025, include:

World Market is recalling EMEK SPREAD PISTACHIO CACAO CREAM WITH KADAYIF, 9.7oz, Best Before: April 01, 2027, Batch Number: 250401 due to a potential contamination of Salmonella.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Heat of this magnitude can be dangerous to your health, particularly for people who are more exposed to extreme heat or more sensitive to extreme heat. This includes:
• People without access to air conditioning
• People working or exercising outdoors
• Older adults
• Pregnant women
• People with disabilities
• People with underlying health conditions
• People who live alone

To prevent heat-related illness:
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Avoid caffeinated, sugary, or alcoholic drinks
• Reduce outdoor activities
• Stay in air conditioning as much as possible
• Watch for symptoms of heat-related illness
• Stay informed
