When you cut a narcissist out of your life, don’t be surprised when the smear campaign begins.

People who can’t control you anymore will often try to control how others see you. Suddenly, you’re the villain in a story that exists only in their delusional narrative.

Remember: healthy people seek resolution. Narcissists seek reputation management.

If you’ve recently set boundaries or walked away, expect distortion, projection, and character attacks. It’s not a reflection of your truth—it’s a reflection of their need to maintain control.

Hold your boundaries. Protect your peace. The people who truly know your character will not be swayed by someone else’s version of you.

And if you’re struggling to navigate the emotional fallout of a smear campaign, you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out. Support and guidance can make all the difference. 🤍

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I spend a lot of time helping people invest in relationships, careers, families, and healing others.
But here’s the truth I come back to again and again:
✨ You’re the greatest project you will ever work on. ✨

Your patterns.
Your nervous system.
Your boundaries.
Your capacity for growth and self-compassion.

The work you do on you ripples into every relationship you touch. And that work is always worth it🤍🙏🏼

Winter can be more than just cold—it can feel emotionally heavy too. ❄️

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a form of depression that often appears during the winter months as daylight decreases and routines shift.

If you notice your mood, energy, or motivation changing this season, here are a few evidence-based ways to support your mental health:

☀️ Prioritize light exposure – Spend time outside during daylight hours or consider light therapy.
🛌 Maintain a consistent routine – Regular sleep and wake times can help regulate mood.
🏃 Engage in movement – Gentle exercise can reduce depressive symptoms and increase energy.
🥗 Nourish your body – Balanced meals and hydration support both physical and emotional well-being.
🤝 Stay connected – Meaningful connection with others can help reduce isolation.
🧠 Seek professional support – Therapy can provide tools to navigate seasonal depression with compassion and clarity.

If winter feels overwhelming, you don’t have to face it alone. Support is available, and healing is possible—even in the darker seasons. 🌱

🖤 National Grief Week 🖤

This week is a reminder that grief touches every one of us — in different ways, at different times, and for reasons the world may never fully see. Grief isn’t something to “get over.” It’s something we learn to carry, and with time, compassion, and support, it becomes a little easier to hold.

✨ Whether your loss is recent or years old, your feelings are valid.
✨ Whether you speak openly or hold your memories quietly, your grief matters.
✨ Whether today feels heavy or hopeful, you are not alone.

National Grief Week encourages all of us to talk, listen, share, and create space for healing. If you’re struggling, reach out. If someone you know is grieving, check in. Small kindnesses go a long way.

💛 This week, and every week, let’s choose empathy.
💛 Let’s honour the people we’ve lost.
💛 And let’s support one another through the journey.

🟣 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 🟣
At Still, I Rise Psychotherapy, we honor the strength it takes to survive — and to heal.

Domestic violence doesn’t always leave visible scars. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, and spiritual. It isolates. It silences. But awareness breaks that silence.

💜 This October, we raise our voices for the survivors.
💜 We remember those we’ve lost.
💜 We stand with those still living in fear — and remind you: you are not alone.

✨ Healing is possible.
✨ Safety is a right, not a privilege.
✨ Your story matters.

Still, I Rise Psychotherapy offers a safe, trauma-informed space for survivors to process, rebuild, and reclaim their power.

📣 If you or someone you love is in an unsafe situation, support is out there.
📍 You are worthy of peace. You are worthy of freedom.
🌱 And still — you rise.

✨ Healing Takes Courage ✨

As a therapist, I witness courage every single day.
Not in loud, dramatic ways—but in the quiet moments:

💬 When a couple chooses connection over defensiveness.
🧠 When a person faces a painful memory instead of burying it.
❤️ When a family has the hard conversation they’ve avoided for years.

Healing isn’t about perfection.
It’s about the bravery to show up, even when it’s uncomfortable.

It’s about saying:
“I don’t have it all figured out… but I’m willing to try.”

To anyone on a healing journey:
You are already brave. You are already enough. And you are not alone.

Your relationship doesn’t need to be perfect—just real. 💛

It’s not about never fighting, never struggling, or always getting it right.

It’s about:
✔ Showing up.
✔ Communicating honestly.
✔ Repairing after the mess.

Balance over perfection.
Presence over performance.

That’s where real connection lives.

“Choose to Keep Going.”

As a Marriage & Family Therapist, I want to gently remind you: healing isn’t linear. Relationships aren’t perfect. Life is messy. But progress doesn’t require perfection — only persistence.

Some days, the weight of miscommunication, unmet needs, or past wounds can feel unbearable. You might feel stuck, tired, or unsure if it’s worth the effort.

But you can choose to keep going.
💛 Keep showing up for yourself.
💛 Keep practicing vulnerability.
💛 Keep choosing connection — even when it’s hard.

Every conversation, every small repair, every honest attempt at understanding — it matters. Growth often looks like taking one more step, even if it’s slow, even if it’s quiet.

Today, just choose to keep going. That choice alone is powerful.

✨You’re not alone on this path.✨
