Hello Everyone, Happy New Year! We would like to welcome Carol Michaelis to the DWC Family! Get to know a little bit about her below.

Carol Michaelis is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #7771) who has an abundance of experience working with teens, adults and families grow and find meaning. She specializes in working with people to overcome trauma, grief, anxiety, stress, depression and substance abuse.

Carol uses an integrative clinical approach that is trauma informed, strength based, CBT and person centered to support clients in meeting their desired goals. Her clinical approach incorporates evidence-based treatment practices dependent on the clients age and concerns. She will work with you to identify the underlying issues causing you distress.

She strives to create a safe space where clients can share their thoughts, feelings, and history in a non-judgmental setting. She wants create a strong therapeutic relationship to explore your goals and help you experiment with new ways of being in the world. Sometimes no matter what you try feelings of sadness, anxiety, unresolved trauma or other mental health challenges seem impossible to overcome. All people have the potential to change and Carol wants to start this journey with you.

Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!
During this time of celebration we wanted to introduce Catherine Rantisi as one of the new members of our DWC family!

Catherine Rantisi is an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW #90931). She has over 5 years working in the mental health field helping children, adolescents, adults, and families overcome a variety of different obstacles in their lives. Catherine’s specialties include working with depression, anxiety, stress, parenting support, high risk behaviors, issues around school and peers, adjustment difficulties, grief and loss, substance abuse, chronic mental health concerns, traumatic experiences, and behavioral difficulties.

As a clinician, she practices integrative, evidence-based, collaborative care approach, and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based and solution focused therapy approaches. Catherine strives to create a safe, collaborative, non-judgmental environment that allows for valued-based change.

Sometimes no matter what you try, feelings of sadness, anxiety, unresolved trauma, or other mental health challenges seem impossible to overcome. Don’t go it alone. She is here to support you and meet your current mental health needs.

Emma Johnson is a bilingual Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC6646) with over 20 years of experience providing individual, adolescent and child therapy. She specializes in treating children and teens with issues related to stress, anxiety, family conflicts, blended family issues, self-esteem, depression, PTSD, ADHD, academic and school related problems. She also works with parents to establish good parenting skills, communication, and conflict resolution to have a long-lasting relationship with their children.
Emma draws from various therapeutic approaches and tailors’ services specifically to each client’s needs. She brings warmth, compassion, has an innate ability to establish rapport quickly. Building trust and interacting well with her clients is key to establishing a solid therapeutic bond.

Meet Cathy Abbot!
She is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT #52991) with over 16 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families with a focus on healing from the effects of trauma, working through attachment issues, grief and loss issues, overcoming depression, anxiety, and improving the quality of your personal relationships. Cathy believes that the therapeutic process is a collaborative one, in which she partners with her clients to assist them in gaining skills they need to reach their goals and make the changes that they desire. Cathy specializes in working with children and adults to heal from the effects of PTSD, which can include attachment issues, anxiety, and panic attacks, to list a few. She also specializes in working with children and adults with ADHD, and has developed several strategies that make living with ADHD easier, including tips for how to parent ADHD children. Cathy enjoys working with children, adults, individuals, couples and families and is committed to working with her clients in their quest to find courage, hope and happiness.
