Those on the ASD spectrum may communicate using Vocal Speech, a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), an Augmentative and Alternative (AAC device) or Gestures & Signs. It is important to recognize that communication comes in many forms and every form is valid! ♥️🙌

🎄 12 Days of ABA🎄 On the first day of ABA, my client showed me a positive reinforcer! 🤗🧩💚 What is a Positive Reinforcer? ✨ A Positive Reinforcer is something added after a behavior that makes that behavior more likely to happen again. It works by rewarding the action you want to see more of. TIP‼️ The reinforcer should be meaningful to the child and given immediately after the behavior.

💙💙Learn and Play Activity Thursday: Build a Paper-Plate Snowman! ☃️ 💙 This week’s activity is all about building your perfect paper plate snowman! ❄️ This activity targets receptive language, sequencing, and communication all while being super fun! 🤩 The materials you will need are: 2-3 Paper Plates (varying sizes),Markers, Glue, Buttons/Stickers, Construction Paper Hat and Scarf. Give some simple cues like ☑️ Put the Big Plate on the bottom. ☑️ Add the Eyes and Carrot Nose ☑️ Glue on the Hat at the top. This is a quick fun way to practice following directions at home! ❄️
