Finding Yoda a home was tricky, but NAWS Humane Society of Mokena didn't give up until he walked out their door for the last time.

Think you have "sciatica"? Well, meet piriformis! This is one of the 6 deep lateral rotators of the hip. This guy is special, though, because he sits DIRECTLY on the sciatic nerve. So when he's unhappy, he pushes on it and sends that jolt of pain all the way down to around the mid calf. A great stretch for this bad boy is pigeon pose or modified pigeon 🤘

THESE ARE THE NERVES THAT COME OUT OF OUR SPINE. There are 31 pairs of spinal nerves: 8 cervical nerves, 12 thoracic nerves, 5 lumbar nerves, 5 sacral nerves and 1 sciatic nerve.

These nerves transport motor, sensory, and autonomic signals between the spinal cord and the rest of our body. Pretty cool, huh!?!

Mentally, emotionally, financially, and physically, we fail the men and women who risk their lives every day, so we have the freedoms we cherish.
