Oasis Hospice & Palliative Care

Oasis Hospice & Palliative Care We Bring You Refuge. The hospice team works to make the patient comfortable while relieving their symptoms and pain for the entire length of the illness.

When given the news of a life-limiting illness, we have the choice of continuing to live with dignity, while remaining pain and symptom free. We are able to achieve this in the comfort of our own home (or, indeed, anywhere else that we call home) surrounded by those we love, those who mean the most to us. When medical care cannot offer a cure, hospice provides care, comfort and support for persons with life-limiting conditions as well as their families. At Oasis Hospice, we believe in affirming life and exist as a refuge for our patients and their families. We aim to improve the quality of life for our patients as they deal with life-limiting illnesses.

This is House of Goshen

Built for patients who need more than home care can provide. When symptoms become too complex to manage at home, this is where families come. Not to wait. To be cared for.

Our General Inpatient Care team handles what home can't — uncontrolled pain, respiratory distress, acute symptom management — so patients can be comfortable and families can breathe.

We've gotten some great feedback from our community, and look forward to bringing you monthly conversations from the team. This podcast highlights both our work, and our heart of service, as Oasis Hospice is first and foremost a ministry dedicated to celebrating life and providing dignity in transition.

If you haven't yet listened; this podcast episode titled, "Why We Built a Faith-Based Hospice in Chicago," features Hakeem Bello, CEO and co-founder of Oasis Hospice and House of Goshen.

We discuss his mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care in the Chicago Southland; starting with his vision, and ending with a state of the art 14-bedroom property in Flossmoor, Illinois.

A true miracle when you think about it, and the essence of the American Dream. That a family of immigrants can achieve in a land where nothing is guaranteed, not by stepping on toes, but by leading with love.

Some key points from the conversation include:
- Hakeem and Sade's initial vision for intimate patient care.
- The creation of House of Goshen, and what the name means.
- Building a culture where humanity coexists with excellence.
- Challenges for the future of hospice care in Chicago.
- New opportunities and redefining what hospice can be.

This episode aims to dispel some of the misconceptions about hospice, showing that it is not about "giving up", but about choosing dignity, and intentional care. It involves pain management, emotional and spiritual support, allowing patients to live better and oftentimes, even longer

Oasis Hospice & Palliative focuses on personalized care, ensuring no one feels abandoned. We know that choosing hospice early can lead to deeper comfort and connection.

As each family walks their unique journey, we want them to know - they are not alone.
