Just over a week ago, we gathered at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights for our spring memorial service — a twice-yearly event we hold to honor the patients we've cared for and the families who've trusted us with their loved ones. It was a beautiful service.

Among the funds we offer through The Foundation, there is a transportation bucket for patients and family members who need assistance getting around.

Ms. Ericka, Founder & President of Tomis Community Foundation, sent us this note and donation to the Oasis Foundation in gratitude for how we served her mother after a negative experience with another hospice. In a moment of crisis, we stepped in to fill the gap so that a family could be together, at peace and free of worry, to cherish the moments that matter.

God bless the hands that serve.

We rounded off Nurses Appreciation week with a small impartation. Our chaplains anointed the hands of our staff, and in so doing, consecrated the work we do in light of the depth it requires.

Thank you to every nurse, caregiver, and staff member who brings their whole self to this work. Oasis Hospice would not exist without you.

A fireball of energy who's passion for what she does extends to every patient she serves. Jenny has been with Oasis for over a decade now, and as we celebrate the beginning of nurses week, we want to take time and honor those who make this business possible.

Oasis Hospice Spring memorial Service

Twice a year, we set aside an afternoon to remember.

Just over a week ago, families, staff, and volunteers gathered at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights for our spring memorial service. A few hours of readings, music, stories, and shared reflection for the patients we've cared for and the families who walked through it with us.

Chaplain Michael Gray's two musical performances quieted the room. Families took the microphone to share stories about the people they've lost. Our Bereavement Coordinator Miranda Denler along with our volunteer and social work teams carried the whole day from start to finish.

To every family, every volunteer, every staff member who made it happen, thank you.

"I do not regret the decision at all.."

Rob McManamy came to hospice volunteering after a health scare of his own. A year in, through holiday drives, events, and helping MC our memorial service last week, he's found a kind of purpose he didn't have before.
