⭐️⭐️ATTENTION PLEASE!⭐️⭐️
As flu/covid shot season is upon us, I would like to remind you, that if you have had ANY vaccine at all— you must wait a minimum of 48 hrs (72 is preferred) before getting a massage. Please reschedule your massage if you have been recently vaccinated, or just get your vaccine after your massage appointment.
These are a few Reasons why it is important to wait 72 hrs.
1. Prevent increased soreness: Massaging the muscle at the injection site can increase pain, swelling, and irritation.
2. Allow your immune system to function properly:
Your body is activating an immune response after receiving a vaccine, which is a normal and healthy process. Having a massage while your body is actively doing this could be counterproductive to your body's recovery.
3. Avoid discomfort:
Symptoms like fatigue, headache, muscle aches, or fever are common side effects of a vaccine. Getting a massage while feeling ill would be uncomfortable and potentially spread illness to your therapist.
4. Support vaccine effectiveness (for some injections):
Massaging the site of an intramuscular injection can sometimes cause the vaccine to leak into the subcutaneous tissue, though this effect may not be clinically significant. It's best to avoid any interference immediately after the shot.
THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING! 🙏🏻🩷
