James Wamberg

James "Jim" Wamberg, a devoted family man and skilled craftsman, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois. Born on May 28, 1940, in Luverne, North Dakota, Jim lived a life marked by dedication, service, and the appreciation of simple joys.

Jim was a proud High School graduate who answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career as a welder with John Deere Seeding in Moline, Illinois. For 30 years, he worked diligently, demonstrating his commitment and expertise before retiring with pride.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim found happiness in pursuits that brought him peace and contentment. He had a passion for flying and woodworking, activities through which he expressed his creativity and skill. His care extended to his beloved John Deere riding mower—a testament to his meticulous nature. Jim also enjoyed riding the Channel Cat, savoring meals out, and simply relaxing. These activities were not just hobbies but moments where he found joy and a chance to connect with those around him.

Jim’s family was central to his life. He has been married to his loving wife, Carol (Lacy) Wamberg, for 26 years, since their union in 2000. Together, they shared a bond filled with affection and mutual respect. Jim is also survived by his son, Chris Wamberg and his wife, Cindy; his stepchildren, Danny (Christina) Surratt, Jeffrey Surratt, Teresa (Robert) Mendez, and Veronica (Jason) Goulet; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella (Andersen) Wamberg.

The Wamberg family extends heartfelt thanks to all family and friends for the compassion and support shown during this difficult time. Every prayer, message, and act of kindness has brought comfort as they honor Jim’s memory and stand together in grief and love.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory would be greatly appreciated by PayPal, Venmo, or Cash App. All funds raised will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, medical bills, and other financial needs during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, is sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to give, sharing this request and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated as well.

We are deeply grateful for every prayer, donation, message, and act of kindness shown to our family during this time. All funds are managed responsibly by Jim and Carol’s grandson, Rob, and will be used to assist Jim’s wife, Carol.

James "Jim" Wamberg will be remembered for his steady hands, warm heart, and the simple pleasures that defined his life. His spirit remains with those who loved him, a lasting reminder of a life well-lived.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Jim's tribute wall at www.wendtfuneralhome.com.

Mary Vogelsang

Mary Ann Vogelsang, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at Heritage Woods of Moline. Born on September 17, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois, Mary Ann's life was a testament to dedication, family values, and an unfailing spirit.

A proud graduate of Rock Island High School, Mary Ann began her journey as a devoted mother and homemaker, placing her family's well-being and happiness above all else. Her nurturing nature was evident not only in the warmth she brought to her home but also in the care she selflessly provided for her mother, Mary (Fisher) Talbot, and her husband. Later, Mary Ann expanded her professional horizons by managing fast food enterprises for many years, bringing the same commitment and competitive drive to her career.

Those who knew Mary Ann remember her as a welcoming presence with a fiercely competitive streak, someone who found great joy in creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Her passions reflected her vibrant spirit: she delighted in hosting family get-togethers, cheering for the Chicago Bears, and spending peaceful moments fishing. Her love for baking, especially during the Christmas season, was legendary; her kitchen would overflow with a rich assortment of sweets that brought happiness to countless family celebrations.

Mary Ann shared a life filled with love alongside her husband, Gregory Vogelsang, who preceded her in death, Though she mourned the loss of her daughter, Melissa Charlton, her enduring legacy lives on through her surviving children: Michael Talbot (Melanie Hughes), Stacey (Joe) Grimstad, Johnna Charlton (Jason Mitchell), Samantha Charlton, and Jay Steines. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 6 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Also Her mother, Mary(Fisher) Talbot , her best friend, Cindy Ockensels Ward; her brothers, Rodney and Gary Talbot; and several nieces and nephews also remember her fondly. In addition to her husband and daughter, she was also preceded in death by her father, Harry Talbot , and her grandson Tyson Allen

Mary Ann's final days were surrounded by the love of her close-knit family, a reflection of the life she led—full of compassion, strength, and an unwavering devotion to those she treasured. As we say goodbye, we hold close the memory of a remarkable woman who gave so much and asked for so little in return.

Friends and family are invited to honor Mary Ann’s life at a visitation held on May 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, Illinois. Elizabeth Bowers

Elizabeth Bowers, a loving mother, devoted homemaker, and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 22, 2026, after a sudden stroke. Born to Gary Armstrong and Marion Elizabeth Hamrick on March 11, 1978, in Moline, Illinois, Elizabeth’s vibrant spirit was woven through the many roles she embraced in life, from her passion for home decorating and jewelry making to her deep love for her fish aquarium and the creative remodeling projects she joyfully shared with her husband, Matt.

Elizabeth’s life was centered around family and faith. She attended United Township High School before earning her GED, but it was her role as a mother that defined her most. She was a devoted mom to her children, Bryce, Jonah, Taylor, and Micah, and generously extended her love to become a “bonus mom” to their friends, welcoming them into her heart and home with open arms. Her love radiated through every corner of her family’s life, nurturing those around her with both kindness and strength.

Known for her colorful presence, Elizabeth’s love for purple was well-known and cherished; she even expressed it boldly with her own purple hair, a symbol of her joyful and unique personality. Her faith in Jesus was a guiding light, reflected in her active involvement with New Life Fellowship Church, where she served willingly, offering support and warmth to her church family.

Elizabeth leaves behind her devoted husband, Matt Bowers, and her four beloved children, Bryce, Jonah, Taylor, and Micah. She is also survived by Aunt Evelyn and several cousins who hold her memory dear. Though her parents, Marion Elizabeth Hamrick and Gary Armstrong of Silvis, Illinois, along with grandparents, several uncles, and an aunt, have preceded her in death, their legacy lives on through her life and the love she shared so freely.

Elizabeth’s home was her sanctuary, lovingly transformed alongside Matt into a personal haven, a testament to the life they built together. Her creativity, warmth, and unwavering devotion made her a beacon of love and comfort to all who knew her.

A celebration of life for Elizabeth Bowers will be held at New Life Fellowship Church in Moline, Illinois, on May 30, 2026, at 10 am with a visitation an hour prior to the service. A luncheon at the church will follow the service.

In the quiet moments after her passing, those who loved Elizabeth remember a woman who was vibrant, nurturing, and deeply faithful. Her legacy is one of a life beautifully lived, a cherished soul whose presence touched so many and whose love will forever illuminate the hearts of her family and friends. Elizabeth Bowers, with her purple hair and radiant heart, will remain an enduring light in the lives she so tenderly blessed.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall at www.wendtfuneralhome.com.
