Last Thursday we celebrated and the wonderful lady that is AMY!!! Without her our ship would not have a captain and our sails would be windless! She is such a great community asset for our members.

We love when friends stop by to wish our members a Happy Birthday! We celebrate our members but it is so wonderful to see others doing it too! Happy Birthday Ms. Joyce. You are loved beyond measure!

Rudy Vallejo came and celebrated with us Active Day Moline. He provided life history, knowledge of the tribes in our area, brought artifacts to share with us, told us of the meanings of many of them to native peoples and performed an Eagle and War dance for us. He then had interactive times where he engaged directly with our members, dressing them, leading chants and having them keep beat for him. The presentation was spectacular and appreciated by all of our members and staff.

Did you know that each has 12 tailfeathers? Those tailfeathers have some significant meanings too. The two middle tailfeathers are the straightest and are considered the chief feathers. The outside two tailfeathers are the dance feathers and are often found on regalia such as Rudy's headpiece. The remaining eight stand for different ideals: honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom.
