By Appointment Only- If you do not have an appointment to float, please call before you come in to make sure we are here. Float Quad Cities has two, state of the art float rooms available. The float can be extended to 90 minutes for an extra $10. Visit FloatQC.com for information about floating, pricing information and to get your float scheduled! Floating is the art of doing nothing! You simply float in a light and sound proofed room, on 10 inches of water filled with 1,000 pounds of epsom salt. The water is around 35% salt, compared to the ocean, which is only 3%. This provides for effortless floating and relaxation. Float tanks were invented in the 1950's, and people have been using them for many years, including many professional athletic organizations. Also known as sensory deprivation or isolation tanks, floating has a ton of benefits, and more research is being done on floatation therapy everyday. Sensory deprivation sounds scary, but it is not. By giving yourself the opportunity to experience an environment free of distractions (like light and sound), your brain can relax and focus on other important things. It is not unusual for people to have huge breakthroughs during or after a float. Floating is also great for learning faster or practicing a speech or presentation. Other benefits include:
- Deeper meditation
- Faster muscle recovery
- Better sleep
- Stress reduction
- Chronic pain relief
- Relieve inflammation
- Replenish magnesium
- Improve mental clarity
- And much more...

Another amazing benefit of floating is absorbing huge amounts of magnesium through the skin. Magnesium is the "master mineral" and is critical for over 300 functions within the body. And most people are deficient. It is possible to ingest magnesium through your diet, but let's face it, most people don't eat the amount and quality of food needed to maintain optimum levels of important vitamins and minerals. Our skin is an incredibly efficient way to absorb magnesium, so you can imagine that floating in epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is going to have huge benefits for you.

Confession. 13 years ago, I left a 1 star review for a local business. They kept forgetting the extra side of sauce I ordered. Like, every time.

I'd get back to work and be extremely disappointed because I WANTED that extra sauce!!!!! I was addicted to food at that time, meaning that if I didn't get what I wanted, it pretty much ruined my day.

You would think I would have learned to check the bag before I left.

I loved the place, obviously. Went there every week. But I left them a 1 star review. This business is now closed, so I can't fix it.

As a small business owner, one of my goals is to support local small businesses. I am making an effort to be more intentional about leaving positive reviews for businesses I love.

It's so easy for people to leave negative reviews and spread rumors online. I'm sure you see it every day.

My challenge to you is to go leave some reviews, Facebook/Google/Yelp/Tripadvisor for businesses you love! ~Aaralyn, FloatQC Owner

These are the 14 businesses I recently left reviews for:

Qc Paws
Rescued
QCFI Concrete & Masonry
NEST Café Quad Cities
HOTWORX
Meyer Landscape & Design
Top Hat Pizza
Healthy Harvest Urban Farms
Thai Flavors
Fresh Blends
Holiday Laundry, Moline
Smash Pizza
Arlo & Elm
Endless DEALS

Pruning was the topic of discussion the other day, on our post about 3 hr floats.

Because of the high concentration of epsom salt, pruning doesn't happen in our float cabins like it does in regular water.

But we have super funny clients, and one of them reached out to our DMs to offer their take on WHY we prune in the first place.

Here it goes.

Float client: "can i tell you why i think people get pruney without sounding like a complete loon 😂'

Us: Sure lol

Float client: "so let’s begin with evolution…😂😂 kidding but not really."

Us: Oh that's where we're going 🤣

Float client: "i’ve heard it’s because at one point when people lived on/near the water it helped them grip stuff when it was wet. and it’s something we just never evolved from"

Us: That's interesting! I haven't heard that theory!

Float client: “back when we were fish people”

Everyone had a good laugh, and I hope you do too. Happy Sunday! ~Aaralyn, Owner

What's cleaner than your tap water, bath water, pools and hot tubs?!

Our float solution! Why?

- 1,100 pounds of epsom salt in each float cabin (naturally anti-bacterially and preventative of common pathogens)

- NSF certified filtration system

- 200 gallons Reverse Osmosis water

- Filtered 3x in between every person who floats

- 1 micron filter (very, very small particle size)

- Hydrogen peroxide added to the water to oxidize organic material

- Treated with UV and ozone

- Topped off every week with fresh RO water and epsom salt

""When germicidal UV light (UV-C) and ozone react the result is the production of hydroxyl radicals.

This reaction is known as the Advanced Oxidation Process, or AOP. Hydroxyl radicals (•OH) are the most powerful oxidation agents available, quickly destroying bacteria, viruses, pathogens and other contaminants that occur in water.

Hydroxyl radicals also destroy chlorine and bromine resistant microorganisms, such as Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia and E.Coli. UV + O3 + H2O2 = Peroxone AOP"

Did you know that your waster water (think toilets, showers, kitchen sink, etc) is collected, treated and added back to the Mississippi River?

Did you know that your tap water comes from the Mississippi River?

We don't use tap water in our float cabins, and we have the best filtration available for float tanks.

Water quality is our top priority!
