If you’re like many people, you have heard a lot about the benefits of CBD. What you may not have heard about is how other compounds found in CBD oil can also boost your health. CBD oil is extracted from the stalks, stems, seeds, and leaves of the h**p plant. Like other plants, h**p contains a variety of minerals, nutrients, and phytochemicals. Because our oil is cold-pressed, all of that goodness is still in the oil. Boom.
There are lots of goodies still in our oil, I’ll get to them all eventually, but let’s start with the Omegas: Omega 3- Alpha Linoleic + Omega 6- Linoleic Fatty Acids (O3 + O6)
CBDA oil offers a flawless 3:1 balance of O6 and O3. O3 and O6 fatty acids are both ESSENTIAL fatty acids, which means that our bodies require them for normal growth and development, but cannot produce them on their own, so they must be obtained from our diet. They are important for the formation of tissue hormones, hormone balance, the immune system, the performance of our brain, the reproductive organs, breathing, nerves, heart and circulation... in short: for the entire body. For me, these two are the hidden superstars of our oil. The O3 + O6 play several important roles in the body, including:
1. Maintaining cell structure: Both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are important components of cell membranes, helping to maintain their fluidity and flexibility. If the cell membrane is unable to do its job properly, this can cause the cell to stop working properly. If many cells have bad cell membranes, the disease can affect an entire organ or even the whole body. In many of these cell membrane diseases
2. Supporting brain function: Both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are important for brain function and development. Omega-3 fatty acids, in particular, are critical for the formation and function of neural cell membranes, and may help to reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.
3. Reducing risk of heart disease: Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to have cardio-protective effects, such as reducing triglyceride levels, blood pressure, and risk of arrhythmia, and improving endothelial function.
Supporting eye health: Omega-3 fatty acids are important components of the retina, and may help to reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
4. Regulating inflammation: Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties, while omega-6 fatty acids can either promote or inhibit inflammation depending on the specific type of omega-6 fatty acid and the context in which it is consumed. It's worth noting that while both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are beneficial in moderation, it's important to maintain a balance between the two. In Western diets, the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is often too high, which can lead to chronic inflammation and an increased risk of several diseases. Remember, h**p oil has a healthy ratio 3:1.
CHeck this mind blowing stat straight from the https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8504498/: Over the last 100 years, the intake of the omega-6 fat linoleic acid in the United States has more than doubled.6 This is primarily due to the increased consumption of omega-6 rich seed oils, such as soybean, corn, and safflower oil, the latter two having an omega-6/3 ratio of approximately 60:1 and 77:1, respectively. Additionally, since the 1950s, there has been an approximate 2.5-fold increase in linoleic acid stored in adipose tissue in the United States.7 The increase in the omega-6/3 ratio has paralleled the rise in numerous autoimmune, inflammatory, and allergic diseases. Omega-3s are utilized by the body to resolve and lower inflammation, whereas omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids are primarily used for increasing inflammation. Thus, the rise in the omega-6/3 ratio over the past 100 years may be driving chronic low-grade inflammatory conditions including autoimmune diseases, allergies and asthma.
