As a doctor in this community( For 25 years), I am extremely excited for these changes. I have seen the trends, fads and nutritional disasters.
Over 10 years ago I received my pro card in bodybuilding. That experience opened my eyes more than any text book. Nutrition is so important!
Here is to 2026! Healthier and Happier!

“Today our government declares war on added sugar.”
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
As part of the newly released 2025–2030 Dietary Guidelines, the Trump administration is officially shifting the national nutrition narrative…and it’s long overdue.
For the first time, federal guidelines are clearly urging Americans to:
• Eat more protein and whole foods
• Cut back on added sugar
• Avoid highly processed foods like chips, cookies, candy, and refined carbs
• Embrace healthy fats including olive oil, butter, and beef tallow
• Move away from the failed MyPlate model and toward an inverted food pyramid that prioritizes real food
This guidance comes after years of worsening metabolic health, rising obesity, and diet-related chronic disease…and reflects what we’ve been saying for decades: food is medicine.
Rather than obsessing over calorie math or demonizing traditional foods, the new framework emphasizes quality…whole foods, fewer additives, and less sugar driving inflammation and insulin resistance.
It’s also a clear sign that the “low-fat, ultra-processed” experiment hasn’t worked. And it opens the door for a more honest conversation about how we fuel our bodies…especially our kids.
Take a moment to recognize what a real win this is—for every American who has spoken up, asked better questions, and fought for the health of their families and future generations.
