What it actually takes to improve your health with exercise.
The American Heart Association, AMA, CDC, WHO, and Mayo Clinic all have nearly identical exercise recommendations.
Research shows we can significantly improve health markers (such as cholesterol levels, blood pressure, blood sugar regulation) and decrease risk of chronic disease and mortality by simply:
-Having 2 strength training workouts a week.
-Having a total of 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise a week
By achieving 150 minutes you decrease your overall mortality rate 35-42%. A week of working out to SIGNIFICANTLY improve your health looks like:
Strength training for 30 minutes, 2x a week.
Going for a 30 minute brisk walk 3x a week.
But remember ANYTHING helps, even if you get half of the recommended minutes, your mortality rate decreases by 22-31%!
The hardest part is getting started. Having a plan. Incorporating it into your way of life.
