Here's something that I found very interesting -1 in 750 are born with only one kidney like Mike . We always that that was rare, but apparently not!

Did you know that there are over 60,000 Americans in need of a transplant? While kidneys from a deceased organ donor are a huge help, there are not enough to help all that need them, which is why the waiting list can take years.

Many people, like Mike Snow , are hoping to find a living donor so that they can receive a life saving transplant while they are still healthy enough for surgery. Kidneys from a living donor often last much longer and start working sooner as well!
