23 days to see your P*P? That's insane!
The fact of the matter is traditional primary care is overloaded: enormous patient panels per provider, 10–15 minute visits, and weeks-long wait times.
At Western Illinois Home Provider Care, we flip that script ... smaller panels, longer visits, and same or next-day access.
Calling that “spoiled” misses the bigger issue: the system has normalized delayed care and rushed visits.
DPC isn’t making patients spoiled—it’s showing what primary care should feel like.

👩⚕️ Healthcare Providers — Quick Question:
When was the last time you had enough time with your patient to truly understand their life, not just their symptoms?
Most clinic visits today look like this:
⏱ 10–15 minute appointments
📋 Endless documentation
🏃 Running room to room
📞 Messages and inbox piling up
Now imagine something different …
🏡 You arrive at a patient’s home.
🪑 You sit at their kitchen table.
💊 You see their medications, their support system, their environment.
💬 You have time to talk. Really talk.
That’s what practicing in our model looks like.
We’re looking for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who want to work part-time or PRN providing care where it often matters most — in the patient’s home.
Why many providers love this model:
✔️ Smaller patient panels
✔️ Flexible scheduling
✔️ Deeper patient relationships
✔️ Less assembly-line medicine
✔️ Care that actually feels meaningful again
If you’ve ever thought:
"There has to be a better way to practice medicine…" This is it.
We’re looking for compassionate professional caregivers who want to make a real impact in the lives of others.
Whether you’re experienced or simply passionate about helping people, we’d love to connect.

If you have aging parents or grandparents, you’re not alone in wanting the very best for them.
A recent study from the Pew Research Center found that most adults 65 and older want to age in place — staying in the comfort of their own home rather than moving to a facility. The challenge? Many families aren’t sure how to make that happen safely and confidently.
That’s where we come in.
For 45 years, Western Illinois Home Health Care has been helping families just like yours create a plan that allows loved ones to remain independent, supported, and safe at home. From assistance with daily activities and medication reminders to compassionate companionship, to skilled nursing, physical therapy and in-home primary care, our experienced team provides the extra layer of support families need for peace of mind.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Message us today to schedule a free consultation and learn how we can help your loved one age in place with dignity and confidence.
Upper-income older adults are the most likely to say they’d prefer to move to assisted living.

Ron and Barb Byers founded Western Illinois Home Health Care in 1981. At that time, there was no home care available in their rural community. They proudly opened their first office in Monmouth, Illinois in July of 1981.
Western Illinois Home Health Care provides third party reimbursed skilled services (Medicare, Veteran's Administration, Private Insurance Companies, Medicaid) to people in their home setting. The Byers felt the need, early on, to expand and offer additional services that may be needed to help people remain in their homes. A sister agency, Western Illinois Managed Home Services, was established in Galesburg, Illinois to provide care to clients in all age groups and offer extended hours of service with up to 24-hour coverage in a home if needed.
Since opening in 1981, Western Illinois Home Health Care and Western Illinois Managed Home Services have expanded to four offices. In addition, Ron and Barb’s two daughters and their husbands, Jen & Jeff Podhajsky and Amanda & Joel Newman, have joined the agencies to help with day-to-day operations within the agencies.
For over 35 years, the Byers family has been committed to their staff and to the community they serve. Through the many changes in health care over the years, the agencies have remained family-owned and locally-operated.
