Please welcome our new provider, Annmarie Ritacca, who will be accepting patients Tuesday through Friday in the afternoon and early evening!

Hello everyone,

We are still open and accepting appointments for existing patients. We are not accepting new patients until Monday, April 6th. These are uncertain times, and we have a lot of things weighing on our minds. We are conferring multiple times per day, and adapting at the clinic as the CV-19 situation unfolds. We are taking it one day at a time, so you can expect a personal call from us the day before your next appointment with an update. For the time being, we have suspended online scheduling so that we may space appointments accordingly. Please call the clinic if you'd like to schedule, if you'd like more information, or if you have any questions. We are here for you. If your plan is to hunker down at home until the world is settled once again, you can cancel at any time without penalty. If we don't see you for a while, please know that we are thinking of you; wishing you peace, comfort, and good health.

Be well,
Kristin & Elissa

Great news! As of 01/01/2020, state of WI employees with Dean/SSM policies have coverage for acupuncture. If you have family or friends who work for the state, please let them know that they now have coverage for acupuncture!

Just a quick heads up that the Monona Drive exit off the beltline is closed, so remember to use the South Towne/Broadway and Stoughton Rd exits instead.

Kristin and Elissa were at the State Capitol today for Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists' first ever Lobby Day. We learned a lot about the legislative process, and visited the offices of our legislators: Senator Risser, Representative Anderson, and Representative Taylor. Access to non-pharmaceutical methods of pain relief plays an important role in preventing opioid abuse, and acupuncture has the additional benefit of helping people to recover from addiction. We will work hard to gain greater coverage for our services in Wisconsin, and we will advocate on behalf of our fellow Wisconsinites to ensure that acupuncture can only be used by certified acupuncturists or health providers with an equivalent level of education, training, and testing so that no one gets hurt!

I testified at a public hearing today at the Assembly Committee on Health on behalf of the Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists, where I serve as the chair of the legislative committee. Phew! I was so nervous!!! A new bill has been introduced that would allow chiropractors to practice acupuncture with 200 hours of training, and dry needling (an unregulated term that refers to the unlicensed practice of acupuncture by professionals who do not wish to undergo proper training and licensure) with 50 hours of training. We advised the committee not to enact the bill, as it poses a public safety risk. Watch me sweat through my testimony on the specific language used in the bill text at 4hrs 8mins. There hasn't been a need for acupuncturists to testify before the legislature in over 25 years. The committee members had a lot of questions, and were very interested to learn more about what we do! If chiropractors want to practice acupuncture, they should go to acupuncture school and become licensed acupuncturists - with all

Our schedules are filling quickly! Kristin and Elissa are currently booked up to a week in advance for daytime appointments, and up to a month in advance for late afternoon or evening appointments. Though we are excited to see our business grow, we are also concerned that our valued longtime patients may slip through the cracks! Please schedule your appointments as far in advance as you feel comfortable, so that we may continue to work with you. We will always do our best to squeeze you into the schedule or let you know if there are cancellations, but last minute appointments are becoming less common. We are very sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience!
