Mental health support comes in many forms.

During the holidays, financial hardships can cause immense strain on families - for both parents and kids. Fear, anxiety, stress, loneliness, and sadness are all very real and valid feelings that come along with these struggles.

We are happy to be able to provide some gifts for the community supper for the Meadowood Health Partnership. Sheray and her team put on an excellent event that brings neighbors together for food and fellowship. And in December, the event helps to ease the stress that the holidays bring to families.

Recent events—both close to home and around the world—can be unsettling and emotionally heavy. During the holidays, especially, these moments can bring up stress, fear, or memories connected to past trauma.

If you’re feeling impacted, you’re not alone. Support is available, and it’s okay to take care of yourself at your own pace.

NAMI offers guidance and resources to help people cope with stress related to traumatic events, including grounding techniques, ways to manage difficult emotions, and how to find additional support.

A huge THANK YOU to District 2 County Supervisor Heidi Mayree Wegleitner for joining our Advocacy Meeting tonight to talk about issues surrounding our unhoused neighbors.

Our community members who lack stable housing have high rates of chronic physical and mental health conditions and we want to make sure we are part of the conversation about how to best serve them.

To get involved with the Advocacy Committee, please email michelle@namidanecounty.org. We are always looking for new voices and perspectives!

Cheers to 5 years!🎉

Excited to celebrate our anniversary with the Middleton Chamber of Commerce at this month's networking breakfast.

We are so grateful for the support of the chamber, the training and professional development opportunities, and the great connections we have made through our membership.

Grateful to come together with The Beacon and Capitol Neighborhoods, Inc. to meet with folks in the neighborhood to discuss mental illness, verbal de-escalation, and ways to lead interactions with awareness and empathy. We even had Brandon and Sydney from Madison Police Department join us to talk about crisis intervention - all good stuff!

Special thanks to Nici from The Beacon and Eli from CNI for bringing everyone together and the hospitable team at St. Patrick Church - St. Raphael Cathedral Parish for the space and insightful discussion.

Community learning makes our community a great place to live!

New NAMI/Ipsos poll findings show rising concern about the U.S. mental health system — and strong public opposition to cuts to services, crisis lines, housing, and Medicaid.

Stress and poor mental health are climbing, and people want leaders to protect the supports they rely on.
