We are excited to announce that our next Values Ambassador in the value of Stewardship is Julia! Julia has been a Caregiver at Garden View Place for over six years, and in the last couple of years has assumed the role of Lead Caregiver.

In her role as the Lead Caregiver, Julia does a great job getting our newly hired Caregivers trained and ready to independently care for our residents. We recently received comments from a new hire complimenting Julia’s thoroughness in her training and overall performance. Julia cares deeply about all of our residents and shows this every day by completing all tasks timely and independently. She’s always looking for additional opportunities to grow and learn more and is willing to do anything asked of her. In stressful or unexpected situations, she remains calm and reacts appropriately.

Outside of her Lead Caregiver role, Julia is also willing to assist in other departments when needed, including culinary, housekeeping, and even maintenance on occasion! Julia’s experience, dedication, and longevity at Garden View Place make her an asset, and we are grateful to have her on the team. Thank you, Julia, for all you do for Garden View Place, the team, and our residents! ☺️⭐

We are pleased to announce that our Resident of the Month for July is David! ⭐

Dave is known among his family as a great farmer. He grew up on a farm just six miles from Postville, alongside his two brothers and five sisters. Most of his days were spent working the land, only heading into town occasionally—usually for Sunday church services.

Dave met the love of his life, Carolyn, at a basketball game between Postville and Clermont. They struck up a conversation at halftime and "hit it off right away." Carolyn later moved to Des Moines with friends to work, while Dave attended Iowa State University to study Agricultural Business. After dating for three years, they married in 1963 and settled on the very farm where Dave was raised.

Together, they raised two daughters while running a busy farm with pigs, beef cattle, and crops like corn, hay, and beans. Each year, the family made time for a vacation, letting the girls choose all the activities—a treasured tradition.

Today, Dave is a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He considers his farming legacy his greatest achievement. Dave’s favorite things at Garden View Place are the morning exercise programs and the meals. His advice to share is, “Work hard!”

🌟 Exciting Opportunity Alert! 🌟

Garden View Place is thrilled to announce the opening of a new position: Community Relations Coordinator! We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our leadership team and make a positive impact in our community.

As the Community Relations Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with our Executive Director to promote our community, guide potential residents through the move-in process, network with other healthcare agencies, and ensure the satisfaction of both residents and their families. Additionally, you will partner with our Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan and facilitate engaging activities and events for residents.

Our ideal candidate is outgoing, cheerful, and embodies our core community values: hospitality, respect, stewardship, integrity, and humor. A background in sales and marketing is highly desirable.
