We are happy to announce that our Resident of The Month for January is Jane! Jane is known for her extraordinary baking skills, as well as cooking at and owning Diamond Jim’s drive-in. Raised in Ion, Iowa, Jane never shied away from home; she always stayed at least three to five miles from her homestead. She is the oldest of her six remaining siblings but had a total of 10 siblings.
On February 7, 1956, she married the love of her life, Donald. Jane and Donald were married for 65 years, and they showed their devotion to each other through various adventures, running the drive-in, and raising their six children. She holds a lot of titles, but her favorites are housewife, baker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jane has 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who are the joys of her life. When Jane was asked about her proudest moments she responded with, “raising my six kids, my family, and Donald.”
In our community Jane enjoys participating in all of the activities, but her favorite is BINGO! Her advice to everyone is to be yourself and do what you think is best! Thank you, Jane, for being a cherished resident here in our community! ♥️
