Meet Shelley Mayeaux, BSN, RN, NFA

Executive Director-Heart of Hospice, Monroe

Shelley spent many years in long-term care, serving as an MDS nurse, Director of Nursing, and Administrator. Of all the roles she’s held, the one that meant the most to her was being a patient advocate. She’s passionate about making sure people receive end of life care with the dignity and compassion they deserve. Her personal experience with her mother on hospice only deepened that passion and ultimately led to her to us.

Shelley says she’s honored to work alongside a dedicated team that always goes the extra mile for patients and families.

Outside of work, Shelley loves DIY projects with her husband, relaxing at the camp, and spending time with children and grandchildren.

Shelley hopes more people come to see hospice for what it truly is-a way to improve quality of life, provide comfort, and support families as they navigate the challenges of end-of-life care.

To stay safe in the sun, practice these tips:

☀ seek shade
☀ wear protective clothing (hats, sunglasses, long sleeves)
☀ apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher liberally & reapply every two hours or more frequently when swimming or sweating
