Patellar Tendon Pain Is a Tendon Problem, Not Just Inflammation

Patellar tendinitis (jumper’s knee) is really about tendon health. When a tendon hurts, it’s often because it’s not tolerating load—not because it needs more rest.

✨ Enter isometrics.

Isometric exercises (muscle contractions without joint movement) are a powerful starting point for tendon rehab. They can:
• Calm pain
• Improve load tolerance
• Stimulate tendon healing
• Build strength without flare-ups

For many people, they provide pain relief and a safe way to keep training.

But tendon rehab is a process—not a quick fix. Isometrics set the foundation, followed by slow strengthening and a gradual return to running, jumping, and sport.

Strong knees come from resilient tendons—and resilient tendons come from smart, progressive loading.

📊 Disc herniations are common — and many people have them with ZERO symptoms

Hearing the words “you have a disc herniation” can feel scary. It’s easy to think something is seriously wrong or that you’ll never feel normal again.
But here’s the truth — and it surprises almost everyone:

✨ Many disc herniations don’t cause any pain at all.
Studies show that 18–30% of people who feel perfectly fine still have disc herniations or bulges on MRI.
And only 1–3% of adults will ever have painful symptoms from one.

So if your MRI report came back with words like herniation, bulge, protrusion, or degeneration, please know this:

👉 What this means:
A disc herniation on imaging does not automatically mean pain, damage, or the need for surgery. Disc changes are often just a normal part of aging and activity.

💛 How Physical Therapy Helps:
Physical therapy focuses on reducing pain, improving movement, and strengthening the spine so you can stay active and confident — even if your MRI shows “disc issues.”

🏃‍♂️Running with Post Tib or Achilles Pain? Read This.

If you’re dealing with nagging pain along your posterior tibialis or Achilles, you’re not alone—these areas take a heavy load with every stride. The good news? Targeted strength work can make a massive difference.

Here are 3 key exercises we use to help runners rebuild strength, stability, and resilience:

🔥 Bulgarian Heel Raises
Great for loading the calf complex and improving single-leg stability—both crucial for absorbing impact during running.

🔥 RDLs with Band
A powerful way to strengthen the posterior chain and support better foot/ankle control by reducing excessive strain on the Achilles and post tib.

🔥 Curtsy Lunge
Targets hip stability and lower-leg alignment, helping reduce overpronation forces that irritate the post tib tendon.

✨ Pain-free running starts with strong, stable legs.
If these symptoms sound familiar, we can help assess your mechanics and build a personalized plan to get you back on the road safely.
