We were honored with the Community Champion Award from Sterlington Business Alliance at the State of the Town Event last night! We are so blessed with a wonderful team and thankful that our beautiful community is a host to so many memories and events!
Long post but had to share what they said about us which was so very touching!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️
The Community Champion Award — this honors an organization or individual whose generosity, creativity, and dedication make Sterlington a stronger, more connected place to live.
This year’s recipient has become a hub of warmth and activity — a place where community gatherings, school partnerships, and local celebrations all come together. Over the past year, they have:
• Jumped in & graciously offered to host the Sterlington Business Alliance monthly Coffee & Conversations.
• Organized their Annual Fall Festival.
• Partnered with Sterlington Elementary School for a Pumpkin Judging Contest.
• Coordinated a First Responder Appreciation Lunch.
• Welcomed the public to Ghouls in the Garden, presented with the Monroe Garden Study League.
And are sponsoring their upcoming Annual Holiday Stop & Shop
Just this week they honored our Veteran’s with a Veteran’s Day Program.
And perhaps one of the most touching examples of their spirit came earlier this year, when rain threatened to dampen a local prom. Instead of letting the night be spoiled they opened their doors, welcoming these local students inside to take their photos in a beautiful safe, dry space-creating memories they’ll cherish for years.
That’s what being a community partner looks like- seeing a need, responding with kindness and opening your doors to others.
Their work extends beyond their walls — touching residents, businesses, and families alike with a spirit of inclusion and service.
It is my honor to present the 2025 Community Champion Award to The Gardens of Somerset.
Congrats again on your award! Most deserving…..
