♥️💛 Alexus Scalia 💛♥️
“Completing my Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Louisiana Monroe was an amazing two-year journey. Entering the program, I had a strong academic foundation, but graduate school challenged me to grow beyond the classroom. I developed not only as a student, but as a clinician. I learned to think critically, adapt quickly, and advocate for the diverse needs of my clients.
Each clinical placement pushed me out of my comfort zone and into real-world experiences where theory met practice. From working with children to supporting adults with complex communication needs, I learned to navigate unfamiliar situations with professionalism and empathy. These moments of uncertainty turned into confidence, and each challenge became an opportunity to learn.
Looking back, I’m proud of the growth I experienced and the resilience I built. Graduate school wasn’t just about earning a degree, it was about becoming a competent, compassionate clinician ready to make a difference.
I want to say a big thank you to all the professors at the ULM SLP department; I wouldn't have become the person I am today without y'all's guidance and support. I also want to thank my family, especially my grandparents for all the encouragement throughout the years. Lastly, I want to say thank a dear friend of mine for pushing me to go back to school and always providing me with guidance. Much love to everyone!”
Congratulations, Alexus!
