Earlier this month, we installed this stunning custom monument that beautifully blends musical artistry and sentiment. Expertly crafted from jet black granite, this all-polished monument is uniquely shaped like a piano and features an integrated bench seat for those who wish to spend time in reflection and remembrance. A matching round granite vase adds the perfect finishing touch to this elegant tribute.

June Team Celebration: Low Country Boil & Field Day Fun

In June, our shop and truck/install team came together for a lively and memorable field day, complete with a delicious low country boil. Hosted annually by our Shop Manager, Jacob Ellis, this event is a heartfelt way to recognize the team’s dedication and hard work throughout the year.

Three spirited teams, led by Monica, Rae, and Jacob, competed in a variety of field games after enjoying the wonderful low country boil. Events included challenges like an egg-on-a-spoon race, water balloon toss, sponge relay to fill a jug, and a pear dropped into a bucket. One especially creative game featured a stencil from our engraving process used as a basket to pass a tennis ball from player to player in a timed relay.

To add a playful twist, the losing teams sported bright red “Thing 1” and “Thing 2” t-shirts—captured in great photos!

It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and team building. A huge thank you to Jacob and his incredible crew for their tireless efforts in all kinds of weather—from sweltering heat and hurricanes to the occasional snowfall. Your commitment is truly appreciated!

This Blue Ridge Gray grass-level granite marker turned out beautifully! If your loved one was a deer hunter or just loved the outdoors, this is an ideal scene to consider using. The marker measures 24" x 12" x 4". The photo was taken in our shop prior to delivery.

A couple of weeks ago we had a very special occasion as Walter Gaulden was celebrated for his 50th year working with Gaulden Monuments. He began working in 1975 and has a wealth of design and monument experience. We count on him each week to guide us as a steady hand. He has our sincere gratitude for the thousands of monuments he has touched over the years and made more personal for each customer that we serve. We are grateful that Walter continues to work on a part-time basis.

Walter's family including children and grandchildren were invited to a special cookout held on the grounds of our office in Rock Hill. They are pictured in the first photo along with Walter (shown in the middle in a black shirt.) Another photo shows Bobby Gaulden highlighting some of the tools of the trade and how they've changed over the decades as Walter has personally witnessed these changes. We also included some historical newspaper clippings showing Walter back in the day.

A special thanks to Nathan Gaulden for preparing all the food for this event. A delicious meal of filet mignon, salad, baked potatoes and several desserts were enjoyed by all.
