While we featured a few of our senior leaders this week, we truly have an amazing group of s here at ULM! If you happen to be getting diagnostic imaging performed by one of our students or any technologist, be sure to take a moment and thank them for all that they contribute to patient care. Happy National Rad Tech Week to all medical imaging professionals!

Happy National Radiologic Technology Week to all our future and current graduates!

Meet Emma Feucht one of our class of 2026 's and amazing students learning the art and science of medical imaging. Emma was also chosen to participate in the LSRT Student Leadership Development Program this year.

🎤"I chose radiologic technology because I’ve always been fascinated by radiology and the lens it gives technologists to the human body. Many times, the problem lies beneath the surface and radiology applies a wide field of modalities that offer visuals of many body systems that get to the root of the problem. With the wide field of modalities, I am able to continuously learn and expand my knowledge. Many times we are meeting patients in vulnerable moments where they are scared, worried, or alone. I love that radiology allows me to provide answers and insight for patients to take the next step towards healing, and I can be a compassionate technologist and make a positive impact for patients."

Happy National Radiologic Technology Week to all our future and current graduates!

Meet Montgomery C**n one of our class of 2026 's and amazing students learning the art and science of medical imaging. Montgomery also serves as the Secretary for the Student Radiologic Technology Association.

🎤"I chose radiologic technology because I have always loved making a difference in someone’s life, whether it be big or small. Being a part of someone’s journey to find answers is so rewarding. Hospitals and any medical facility are not a place of comfort, so being that smiling face may be the hope someone needed for that day! Everyone should feel like somebody, and in this field, I am able to do that. It is also so fascinating to see how medical imaging can bring answers and a diagnosis. This profession also has so many ways to advance your education with all the different modalities. Learning never ends in radiology, and I love that. Letting others be seen and heard is what I love most."

🩻 Did You Know?
The first CT was taken in 1971 - 54 years ago! The scan was performed on a 53-year-old woman with a suspected brain tumor. The CT scanner was invented by Godfrey Hounsfield and Alan Cormack, who later received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their work.

Today, radiologic technologists, also known as computed tomography technologists in this specialized discipline, use this advanced form of imaging on patients every day!

🎤"I chose Radiologic Technology because I wanted a career that aligned with my values of serving others and being a helper in my community. I worked for a summer as an ED clerk and really got to see the different departments come together to help patients, the x-ray techs were some of my favorite people to work with! "
