Peace on Earth: Christmas Kirtan with Krishna Devi

This Kirtan chanting is to bring the vibration of peace to one’s self, so we could open our heart and send peaceful energy and love to the world.

Preceded by Ashram Meditation Program beginning at 7:00 PM (by donation).

Krishna Devi is a Kirtan musician and Bhakti Yogini. She was initiated into the spiritual practice of Sanskrit chanting by her Guru Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, who taught the Sanskrit language as the "science of vibration." Krishna Devi regards chanting as a gateway into meditation and believes that chanting the sacred sounds allows an opening of one’s heart. She is also a published author of the book Kirtan Angels and has recorded and produced several albums.

At 7:45 PM, a Video of one of Joan's programs at the Ashram, followed by a Kirtan.

These offerings are generally presented on the third Saturday of each month.

Joan Suval was a founding member of Ananda Ashram and a senior disciple of Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati. She dedicated her life to the teachings of Yoga and Vedanta, offering meditations and programs at Ananda Ashram, in New York City and at other national and international locations for over fifty years. Joan left her body on April 24, 2020.

Since her yoga training at Ananda Ashram in 2011, she has been dedicated to creating sacred spaces for self-exploration through heart-centered practice. Integrating movement, sound, breath awareness and stillness, Kika shares the transformative power of yoga in a holistic, inclusive and modern way. She holds certifications in yoga therapy from the Yoga Vidya Gurukul (India) and sound healing from the Sage Academy of Sound Energy (Woodstock, NY).
