🎓 We want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the graduating seniors of the Medical Laboratory Science Program. Your dedication, perseverance, and academic excellence have brought you to this important milestone, and we are incredibly proud of each of you.

We would also like to recognize this year’s outstanding award recipients:
🔹 Lambda Tau Honor Society inductees, honored with golden stoles, for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or higher and exemplifying academic excellence in the field.
🔹 Student of the Year Award — awarded jointly to Hailey Holt and Rabina Sapkota for their exceptional leadership, commitment, and contributions to the program.
🔹 Academic Achievement Award — presented to Alicia Williams in recognition of her exemplary academic performance throughout the program.

📣We’ve decided to extend our initial deadline for Fall 2025 admissions! That means you and your friends can still apply. Just think, you could be a working licensed and certified Medical Laboratory Scientist in May 2027! 🧑🏼‍🔬🧑🏽‍🔬

🔬Don’t stress if you have not met all of the requirements just yet. Email our Program Director, Jessica Lasiter (lasiter@ulm.edu). She will review your transcript and see if we can get you in now! The MLS faculty works hard to ensure students don’t have to delay their start date.

Take a look at one of our most recent graduates! Kelsey Giddens is the first full-time ULM athlete to pursue an MLS degree. She completed the extremely rigorous professional phase of the MLS program while playing softball. She is truly a rockstar on the field, in the classroom, and now in the lab! We are so proud of Kelsey and the rest of her classmates for finishing strong! ♥️💛

Though often unknown because of less hands-on patient care, Medical Laboratory Scientists are truly the backbone of healthcare. Test results provided by licensed and certified MLSs are responsible for over 70% of diagnoses made in healthcare. We understand the importance of accurate and precise testing, as well as how to interpret results for each individual patient.

Each MLS graduate is trained in areas of Immunology, Hematology, Medical Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Immunohematology, and more! Don’t let those big words scare you, though. If you have any questions about a career in MLS, please contact us!

"🌟 Huge congratulations to our incredible students at the annual MLS Bi-state meeting! 🌟

🏅 Our Year 2 Student Bowl team rocked it, placing 2nd in the finals!
🏆 A special shoutout to Jaci Ervin, named LSCLS Student of the Year!
📚 Jaci Ervin and Lakayja Dupree took on leadership roles as LSCLS Student Chair and Secretary, and passed the torch to our amazing Year 1s – who now hold the roles of LSCLS Student Chair (Miracle Alexander), Student Vice Chair (Jacob Lawrence), and Secretary (Julia Johnson)!
✍️ Lastly, a big congratulations to Vittoria Valderama and Miracle Alexander for their outstanding essay awards!

We are beyond proud of all their hard work and can't wait to see what next year’s Bi-state meeting has in store! 🙌 "

🩸 Our MLS students had an amazing opportunity to share their knowledge with local elementary and high school students, demonstrating blood typing and giving a sneak peek into the cool lab procedures they get to do! 🎓🔬 It was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved!

🎉 What an incredible week at the annual MLS Bi-state meeting! 🎉

The MLS Bi-state meeting brings together MLS educators, students, and professionals for an exciting week of learning, networking, and friendly competition. Our ULM MLS students showed up strong, battling it out in the Student Bowl, while attending continuing education classes to expand their knowledge and skills. 🏆💡

But it’s not all about the brains! 😄 The week was filled with fun, laughter, and new friendships – and of course, the bowling social was a highlight! 🎳 The ULM MLS faculty and students also battled it out in laser tag! 

We’re so proud of all our students and can’t wait to see what next year’s meeting has in store! 🙌
