Alice Lorraine Care Center Retirement and Assited Living We have been serving Monroe and Southeastern Michigan since 1994. We fulfill and exceed all of the state’s rules and regulations.

We are not a national corporation, but a family that has been serving the community of Monroe for over 30 years in both health care and elderly care. Assisted living facilities have emerged as one of the most desireable and enjoyable alternatives to nursing homes and other forms of elder care. We at Alice Lorraine Care Center would like you to make us your first choice when it becomes necessary to find that extra help in caring for your loved ones. Alice Lorraine Care Center was founded in May 1994 by a physician, Shapoor Ansari, MD and his wife Sue, a registered nurse. Their goal was to create a beautiful, home-like environment for elderly residents needing 24-hour supervision without the institutionalization of a nursing home. Alice Lorraine Munson Vollmer, Sue’s grandmother, was the inspiration for this venture. Following a cardiac arrest, Sue cared for her grandmother at home, surrounding her with many of her own belongings, as well as the beauty of nature. She watched in amazement as her grandmother rebounded to a nearly functional life after having been told by doctors she could never be rehabilitated and would need to spend the remainder of her life in a nursing home. Thus, the first “Alice Lorraine Care Center” was born. Over 25 years later, Alice Lorraine Care Center remains committed to excellence. Its goal is not only to care for each resident as if they were caring for their own family members, but also to fill each day with beauty, comfort, dignity and security. It is their belief that the elderly, regardless of their physical or mental state, can continue meaningful, comfortable lives when each is enabled to maintain their own individuality, dignity, control and choice.

Alice Lorraine Care Center offers Respite care per availability. Call 2 weeks in advance to reserve a room for your loved one. The price is per day and includes room and bored, meals, all care, cleaning of the room, laundry, activities 7 days a week, and medication management. We are licensed for Dementia and Alzheimer’s on our main and lower level. Respite stay can be up to 30 days. Please call today about our Respite Pricing and any other questions. Alice Lorraine Care Center is currently looking to add to our ALCC Family. We have availability for our premium rooms on our main level and lower level. Please call today to find out more information.

At Alice Lorraine, we assist with all activities of daily living: dressing, feeding, toileting, bathing, medication dispensing, housekeeping, laundry, etc. for one all-inclusive price-- there is no level-of-care grading or additional fees.

Today we played "would you rather" and made a fictional story from our Resident's answers. Our main level wanted to meet the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus while dressed as paper bags, but later realized they would rather be wizards for the day. We went trick or treating during the day with their best friend, the witch, and the friendly ghost. We went to the fair to bob for apples. By the end of the day we all grew bat wings and furry monster feet. We were then able to fly to the glow in the dark dance party.

Today we played "would you rather" and made a fictional story from our Resident's answers. Our lower level dressed as their favorite movie stars with pumpkin seeds for fingernails. Then we went on a haunted hayride and decorated our Christmas tree. That night we went for a spooky walk through the graveyard to get to houses on the other side. We booed like a ghost at every house. We went trick or treat in the rain and only got fruity candy no chocolate at all.. We ended the night flying on our broomsticks back home.
