Having a tilted, or retroverted uterus doesn't necessarily mean infertility. Although in some rare cases a retroverted uterus can lead to miscarriage, it is not a common end-result. A retroverted uterus is one that doesn't sit horizontally atop the bladder as its supposed to. In many cases, no treatment is needed, and your uterus can assume a normal position during pregnancy. But in the case that your retroverted uterus gets trapped in your pelvis, this can lead to miscarriage or symptoms of pain. Your doctor can perform a comprehensive pelvic exam to diagnose the position of your uterus and ways to fix it.
