April Calloway has been chosen as the Community Caregiver of the Month for June. April has proudly been working in health care for twenty-five years.
For the past eight months she has been employed by the Gardens of Carleton working with in their memory care area. April was nominated by the family of Darice Bock. Darice’s family raved about the wonderful experience and exceptional care that was extended to them at the Gardens. Of the fabulous staff, April stood out for the way that she selflessly tended to Darice.
April has been married to Ray Calloway for the past 22 years. She’s a foster mother to seven girls and one boy and furthermore has adopted five children including having an autistic daughter. She is also the grandmother of thirteen.
April is a graduate of Airport High School. She had previously worked with developmentally challenged residents at a group home and ran a school in Garden City.
April loves her work. She looks forward to seeing her patients faces each day. So much so she hasn’t missed a day of work since she became a member of the staff at the Gardens. Always being on the go, she truly enjoys lounging in her recliner after a long day at work.
