We do our best work so our patients can live their best lives. For the next few weeks, we're proud to bring you some familiar faces who make our hospital community what it is today. Here's what Krista Lambrix, Director of Surgical Services, has to say about the difference she's made in the lives of her friends, family, and neighbors every day for the last 28 years.

"I lead by example by providing a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and colleagues. We pride ourselves on taking holistic care of our neighbors in our community and treating them like family. Patients find comfort and reassurance in seeing our familiar faces. Our employees recognize that each individual is unique and engages in an active partnership with all disciplines to promote and provide the highest standards of patient care, satisfaction, and safety. I’m a relationship builder and instill this in my TEAM. The surgical services department provides a relationship-based approach to interacting with patients, and colleagues to optimize the patient experience."

Congratulations to two ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital employees on receiving the DAISY and ROSE Awards for the first quarter of 2025!

DAISY Award – Jessica Schaub, RN, 2 South.
Jessica was nominated by a patient who shared her appreciation with a hospital liaison for Jessica’s calming presence and genuine compassion when feeling scared: "It wasn't so much that she gave me the medication," the patient recalled, "but she sat with me and comforted me until my anxiety resolved and my breathing calmed. She really went that extra mile."
ROSE Award – Lt. Kellie Needham, Security.
A coworker nominated Lt. Needum for a ROSE Award after being deeply moved by her compassionate response during a crisis. “The way Lt. Needum responded to this situation, holding the patient’s hand, and calming their fears, exemplified true compassion. It showed me the power of empathy in moments of crisis. Her actions were not about force or control – they were about understanding, de-escalation, and human connection.
While her response certainly reflects her training, it also reveals something deeper: a profound sense of humanity. I plan to share this story as a shining example that our security officers are not just protectors – they are partners in care who make emotionally charged situations calmer, safer, and more bearable.”

Be confident in consistent care. ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital’s dedication to ensuring all stroke patients have access to best practices and life-saving care has earned us a Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus award.

We also received the American Heart Association Target: Type 2 Honor Roll award, which aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
