Apparently normal activities for me 4 weeks postpartum include being one of the first to stay in the former home of Ed & Lorraine Warren and investigate the Occult Museum overnight.
My entire life, I knew I wanted a daughter, but I was afraid what that would mean for my dreams. But I got to visit the museum, which has been my dream since I saw The Conjuring as a teenager (I think you can tell I’m a huge nerd about The Conjuring Universe). This movie was a huge deal for everyone, but especially to a New England kid who had just graduated from high school and dreamt of visiting the museum in CT. When it closed, I never expected I’d be able to visit it– let alone investigate it and stay the night in the home.
I spent the day with my daughter then left her in the hands of my loving husband (who stayed up over 24 hours to be with her so I could go) and then headed to CT. I got to meet some of the wonderful people taking care of the home and I got to investigate with my friends from
It was hands down the most active place I’ve ever investigated. It’s easy to assume if something has a lot of hype, and especially if there are inaccurate film adaptations, to assume it’s just that– hype. But the museum was active immediately to the point where I actually got a little uncomfortable. It is very difficult to scare me these days. We heard something growl/yell near Annabelle multiple times (and yes I will share as soon as I can), we had a tall figure looming over her and climbing in and out of her case on the SLS, and even had an unseen force press play on a recorder and we heard a click. Yes, this was all caught on film as I was doing a live on TikTok. After the museum closed for the night, I had to rush to bed and only got 4 hours of sleep because I woke up at 6:00am to make it back to be with my daughter. I got little sleep and had to take pump breaks, but man, it was the most incredible experience and so worth it. Teenage me, who moved out at 18 not long after seeing the Conjuring, and struggled with homelessness while working full time and going to college, would be in such awe that this is my life.

Forgotten promo video Dan and I (Chris) did for the Sterling Opera House in Derby, CT back in the day. This was prior to joining NESPR full time. We considered the opera house our home base for hauntings as we had nearly full open access (thanks Rich DiCarlo) whenever we wanted. We practiced, trained and gave open tours here to the public and groups like the Boy Scouts, and held fund raisers here.

We called our team, “Old School Paranormal” (OSP), and had a small group of investigators that included veterans, some newbies and psychics. We even had an office downtown on the second floor of an old school fire station!

THREE-NIGHT EVENT: Join Ryan Buell, Wade Kirby (NESPR) and Father Bob Bailey for a three-night special webinar event, "Demonic Encounters."

Throughout this series, we will share our professional and personal experiences encountering the demonic over the years. From working with the Catholic Church, case investigations, to going on the "Devil's On The Run" tour with items from the Warrens Occult Museum, the presenters will showcase some of their most chilling and emotional confrontations with the darker side of the paranormal.

The three-night live webinar event will occur on Friday, November 21st; Sunday, November 30th and Friday, December 5th. All presentations will be recorded and available on-demand for attendees.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Lorraine Warren's animal shelter charities.

As promised here is another before and after from Ed & Lorraine’s home. This was the chicken coop for Lorraine’s pet roosters that she loved dearly. The area really was not functional for a B&B so Elton’s vision was to turn the area, located just outside the museum door, into a prayer/spiritual sanctuary from the museum if a guest needs to get away from the haunted museum.

The room is complete with a church pew, St. Michael statue and a large framed print out of Dan Rivera’s favorite prayer of protection, the St. Michael the Archangel prayer. There is also holy water and rosary beads available to guests that are blessed by a priest at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. The rosary beads can be kept by the guests.
