A dream come true for Chuck! 🥳

We had the honor of celebrating Chuck’s 101st birthday as part of our MOSAIC Dreams program! Surrounded by love, laughter, and joy, Chuck’s milestone birthday was made even more special with the help of his wonderful family.

Thank you to Chuck’s loved ones for joining us in creating such a meaningful celebration and helping us honor an incredible man’s life and legacy. Cheers to another year!

A dream come true for Kay! 📚

Kay enjoys reminiscing about her time working at the Hedberg Public Library and the MOSAIC Dreams program provided her the opportunity to reconnect with a job that she loved. During her visit, Kay and Baily, Quality of Life Director at Azura of Verona, were given a tour of the library, which has been remodeled since Kay's retirement. Programming Librarian Amy Christian demonstrated the HPL sorting machine (internally known as "Kermit"), and Kay had the opportunity to process items through the sorter and onto the conveyer belt to the different baskets for the library departments. Once that task was completed, the three went over to "shelf read" (an important part of stack maintenance that includes reading each call number in order to ensure that the books are properly shelved) the travel section and mystery section.

A small reception allowed time for Kay to reconnect with HPL staff that worked here during her tenure, as well as reminisce as she paged through a photo scrapbook from those years. Kay also selected some items for inclusion on the library's Staff Picks shelf for patrons to check out as part of Readers Advisory.

"It was very special to have Kay at the library," says Christian. "She shared memories of her role and responsibilities during her time here and we are honored to have played a small role in providing a meaningful experience to someone who gave so much to our community through her work at HPL."

Peggy, Candy, and Susan’s MOSAIC Dream was simple but so special - just a day to enjoy lunch together as the close friends they are. They went to lunch at Maxfield's Pancake House, shared stories and enjoyed being in each others presence - their smiles say it all!

A dream come true for Noel! 🌴

After Noel, a resident at Azura of Verona, married his high school sweetheart Jean Ann Compeau in 1954, they lived for most of their first year of married life in a rented bungalow 4 blocks from Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. From 1953 to 1955, Noel was in the Army, working as a lab technician at Tripler Army Hospital, Honolulu. Later, at age 55 and for the next 20 years, Noel and Jean returned to Hawaii every winter. On their first return trip, they went to Oahu and visited the address where they had lived in 1954 and 1955. In subsequent visits, they stayed in west Maui and spent many, many hours and days and weeks on the lanai overlooking the ocean, watching whales and listening to the surf and waiting for the sunset.

Noel's dream was to back to Hawaii, so we brought Hawaii to him! Bahama Bob rocked the steel pan and he enjoyed the Hawaiian vibes, island smoothies and feeling like he was back home!

A dream come true for Ann! ⚾

For Ann, a resident at Azura of Verona, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers has been a lifelong passion. From listening to games on the radio as a child to following the team through the years, baseball has always held a special place in her heart.

Thanks to our friends at Newsradio 620 WTMJ and our Dreams program, Ann’s wish to attend a Brewer game again came true! Joined by her family, she soaked in the excitement of the ballpark—the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, and the joy of being surrounded by her loved ones. Together, they celebrated not just a game, but a lifetime of memories, laughter, and the traditions that connect generations.
