“The pink bead on the lanyard is the actual size of a newborn's stomach. For comparison you can see a 2 oz. Bottle of formula. The big blue circle on the information card is the size of a newborn's stomach at 3 days. Even at 3 days, 2 oz. is clearly way too much. When a mother gives birth for the first few days it's normal, healthy, and usually more than enough for the mother to produce less than 1-2 oz. of colostrum every few hours for her baby to eat periodically between their long naps during the day and night. Mama please don't worry about not making enough for your baby, 9 times out of 10, you are making plenty.”
