April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month. 🥼🧐 Regular dental checkups can save your life by detecting oral cancer early, but it’s important for you to know the symptoms, too. You may schedule an online appointment request, patientcare@piedmontdental.com or call 704-225-8555. Symptoms you should watch for & always bring to your dentist attention:

- Any ulcer or sore that does not heal within two weeks.
- A lump or hard spot on the tongue or in the mouth.
- Persistent red or white patches on soft tissues.
- Difficulty swallowing, speaking, or moving the tongue

It is estimated that almost 60,000 adults in the U.S. will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer annually per (American Dental Association). Oral cancer can be particularly dangerous because it is often caught too late. Schedule your appointment today! 🫶🦷💕
