I devoted most of my Thursday and Friday to addressing this issue. Assuming I was interacting with a customer, I strived to be as helpful as possible, considering the holiday. Despite being blocked, they managed to send me another message this morning. This is one of many challenges business owners face. Fortunately, I did not provide them with my home address.

Farmstand on Lucy

I’ve been trying to find the right words and keep coming up short! Farmstand on Lucy is not here because of our own strength. First and foremost, it’s by the goodness of God. Second, it’s because of a selfless village of support that has shown up time and time again.

Although she’s probably going to get me for this (because she does not want any attention on herself), I have to say it: we would not be where we are without Mrs. Sandy and her beautiful business, Bountiful Blessings Farm Fresh Produce ! She has been our biggest cheerleader, encouraging us and going above and beyond. The community she’s created at her place will leave you feeling like you just had church in the best kind of way.
She’ll never take the credit—she always says “it’s God.” And she’s right. But I see how He’s using her.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to sweet Mrs. Ann at Neighbor’s Community Store in Oakboro and Mrs. Tammy at Freedom Acres Farm in Midland. These women are doing amazing work and have lifted us up more than they know!

At the heart of it all, I believe in community over competition. The only person I try to compete with is myself, to grow, improve, and stay faithful to the calling on my life. There is room for everyone at the table, and these women prove that with how they love and support others.

So if you’re looking for places to shop, visit, or simply feel encouraged, go support these incredible businesses. They’re doing so much more than just selling goods! They’re building community, blessing others, and walking out their purpose with grace and grit.
