Honored to present this morning at the Local Interagency Coordination Area (LICA) meeting at San Gabriel/Pomona Regional Center.

I had the opportunity to connect with SLPs, OTs, PTs, ABA providers, Early Interventionists, and Regional Center Coordinators to discuss a powerful shift in thinking:

Instead of asking,
“Does this child have enough foundational skills for speech therapy?”

We asked,
“Would speech therapy support the development of joint attention, engagement, and communication right now?”

When we reframe the question, we move from waiting for readiness to building readiness.

Grateful for the collaboration and shared commitment to supporting children during their most critical developmental windows.

Funny Friday:
As heard from a therapist this week at Justine Sherman & Associates "So it turns out that my dancing actually makes people cry. My kiddo needed a wiggle break so I asked dad if we could do a song. We did Freeze Dance. My kiddo started crying. Dad said he thought it was the dancing. I promised him no more dances in the future."

Each month at JSA we host a free CEU for our speech pathologists. Today we focused on growth mindset and the importance of treating our clients holistically. Through simple, hands-on exercises, we explored calming the nervous system, using supportive breath, and setting meaningful goals—for our clients and ourselves.
