✨ July is National Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month ✨

Each year, thousands of babies are born with cleft lip, cleft palate, or other craniofacial conditions. These differences can affect speech, feeding, hearing, and overall development—but with early intervention and a collaborative care team, children can thrive!

At Justine Sherman & Associates, our speech-language pathologists play a vital role in supporting children through their cleft journey. From early feeding support to speech therapy post-surgery, we’re here to help families navigate every step with compassion and expertise.

Let’s work together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and celebrate the strength and resilience of children and families impacted by cleft and craniofacial differences.

5 Things to Know About Disability Pride Month
July is Disability Pride Month, a time to honor the history, achievements, and experiences of people with disabilities. Here are 5 things to know:

1️⃣ It celebrates identity, not just awareness.
Disability Pride Month is about embracing disability as an important part of identity—not something to fix or hide.

2️⃣ It began in 1990.
The first celebration took place in Boston after the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990.

3️⃣ It challenges ableism.
It’s a time to recognize and speak out against the biases and barriers people with disabilities face every day.

4️⃣ The Disability Pride flag has powerful meaning.
Its colors represent the diversity of the disability community, including invisible and sensory disabilities, neurodiversity, and chronic illness.

5️⃣ It’s for everyone.
Disability Pride isn’t just for people with disabilities—it’s a call to all of us to be allies, amplify voices, and build a more inclusive world. 💙

July is Disability Pride Month—a time to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of people with disabilities, while promoting visibility, accessibility, and acceptance.

This month marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed into law on July 26, 1990. The ADA protects the rights of individuals with disabilities and is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward equity and inclusion.

At Justine Sherman & Associates, we’re proud to stand with our clients and families in breaking down barriers and amplifying every voice. 💙

Let’s celebrate Disability Pride by continuing to create a world where all people are seen, heard, and valued.
