Hello all, Kelly (Lyn's daughter) here. I wanted to give a quick update - Lyn is doing good and has been making amazing progress with her physical recovery in the short amount of time being home however she is dealing with mental fatigue. We are all taking it day by day but she is in good spirits otherwise.

People have been reaching out to her through text and I've been passing along those messages to her - she is not checking her phone. Lyn appreciates all the support!

Thank you

I have good news everyone! Lyn has been released from the hospital. She was there for 63 days total and went through a lot... still has a long road to full recovery but she's finally back home and resting comfortably.

Thank you for all the prayers everyone! They have and will continue to help as Lyn regains strength.

It's been a little over a week since the last update and I'm pleased to report that everything is trending in a positive direction. Lyn is off the ventilator and ECMO, her blood pressure has been under control for a few days now and her oxygen levels have remained fairly constant. She is still on supplemental oxygen, but at least that tube is out of her throat!

While she remains in the ICU, her recovery seems to be on track, slow and steady. We've come a long way from just a few weeks ago when we were told there was nothing more they could do for her, haven't we?

I want to thank everyone again for your well wishes and prayers. I know Lyn appreciates them. We'll hope for more good news next week!

Hi again everyone, its been about a week so here’s an update on Lyn…

She remains in critical condition. We had another close call after she was able to come off the ventilator late last week. She is back on the ventilator, as well as ECMO(a machine that oxygenates her blood for her independent of her heart and lungs).

It’s a delicate situation, she has pulmonary hypertension complicated by a right to left cardiac shunt (a fancy way of saying there is a tear or hole in her heart) that allows unoxygenated blood to bypass her lungs and get reintroduced into the left side of her heart (the part that pumps freshly oxygenated blood to your body). The hole can be repaired, but not until the hypertension of her lungs is brought down and she has recovered sufficiently for the surgery that is required.

She remains deep in the woods, but there is hope as the doctors and nurses do what they can to help her. We’ll keep everyone updated on her condition, we have appreciated all the voicemails and texts and comments so far, when Lyn recovers she will love seeing them too. Have a nice night everyone.

Hi everyone,

Lyn recently fell ill and has spent the past week in the ICU. It was very rough early on, and while she’s not out of the woods yet, she is improving and hopefully past the worst of it.

We very nearly lost her early Wednesday morning, but some quick thinking by her doctors and the pharmacist at Frederick Hospital likely saved her life. She is currently recovering in the ICU in D.C., and her vitals are looking much better.

We'll be in contact soon with anyone needing glasses or services. If you have any questions or would like to send well wishes to Lyn, please leave a comment or a voicemail on the shop line (301-253-0734), and we'll make sure she gets it.

Keep an eye here for updates on her condition and information about when we might be reopening.

We appreciate everyone keeping Lyn and her family in their prayers. We’ll be in touch soon.
