Therapy Team throughout the month of May. Each May, the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) celebrates May is Better Speech and Hearing Month. During May, we will promote speech therapists and speech therapy assistants who work at Recess Therapy. Speech therapists, also known as speech-language therapists or pathologists, help individuals of all ages with various speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. SLP and SLPA’s are vital in helping patients develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs. These plans include exercises, techniques, strategies, and assistive devices to improve speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication skills, and swallowing abilities.
