Every year, over 20,000 individuals across New Jersey receive support through our programs and services. From mental health education and advocacy to direct support services, we are working every day to ensure individuals and families have access to the resources they need to thrive.

Our impact spans six service counties, strengthening communities and helping people find hope, healing, and connection.

But the need for mental health support continues to grow, and so does our commitment.

We are grateful to the Essex County Hospital Center for generously welcoming us into their space to host our March Directors’ Meeting. Opportunities like this highlight the power of strong community partnerships and the importance of organizations working together to better serve those in our communities.

A special thank you to Frank DelGaudio, Hospital Director and CEO, for helping make this possible. Your support and collaboration are truly appreciated, and we value the continued partnership as we work toward our shared mission.

March is a time to recognize the strength, brilliance, and determination of women who shape our families, workplaces, and communities every day. Their contributions are powerful, lasting, and worthy of celebration.

At MHA, we know that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being. While our mission supports individuals of all backgrounds, we also acknowledge the unique experiences that can impact women’s mental health. We remain committed to creating inclusive spaces for conversation, connection, and care.

💜 To the women showing up each day with courage — we see you.
💜 To the women advocating for themselves and others — keep going.
💜 To those who may be struggling quietly — support is here.

Together, let’s continue fostering understanding, compassion and access to mental health resources, this month and every month.

Thank you to the Thursday Morning Club, a women’s organization dedicated to improving the community through volunteer service, for welcoming members of our team to speak about mental health facts and myths and the important work MHA is doing in our communities.

Our Director of Self Help Advocacy & Education, Madine Despeine-Udoh, and NJ4S Supervising Prevention Consultant, David Mills, had a wonderful time connecting with members and sharing more about our work. We are especially grateful for the connection through our Board President, Barbara Small, who is also a member of the club. Also pictured with our team is Thursday Morning Club Past President, Susan Pa**ie.

The club also generously created care baskets filled with household cleaning essentials for our clients transitioning into housing. These thoughtful donations will directly support the individuals and families we serve.

We truly appreciate their kindness and commitment to strengthening our community.

Healthy mind. Healthy body. Both matter.

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

Content warning: This post discusses eating disorders.

It’s Eating Disorders Awareness Week. If you’re in recovery or hoping to start, these messages are for you. 💜

Between external pressures around body image and the internal noise and rules that come with disordered eating, recovering from an eating disorder can feel like an endless, uphill battle.

But recovery IS possible, and you deserve to heal.
