I often use Evil Bone Water in my practice on injuries during an acupuncture treatment. Evil bone water is a Chinese herbal topical liniment containing a blend of herbs and alcohol. Key ingredients include Notoginseng, Cinnamon Bark, Zedoary Rhizome, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizome, Knotweed Rhizome, Inula Cappa, Philippine Flemingia Root, Scutellaria Root, Camphor, and Menthol.
It is a household item in China called Zheng Gu Shui. The ingredients reduce pain, open energetic channels, speed the healing of injured tendons and bones, and reduce bruising.
Often times I use this on patients with an infrared lamp after sports injuries to speed recovery time. The protocol for injuries is to use ice to reduce inflammation, but Evil Bone Water is beneficial after the initial injury phase to increase circulation by using, what's referred to in Traditional Chinese Medicine, as blood movers (ie, increase circulation), for example E Zhu, San Qi, and Qian Jin Ba. It also contains herbs like Zhang Nao and Bai Zhu that reduce inflammation and swelling.
A great topical to add to your first aid kit for the summer! You can buy this in my office or online at www.evilbonewater.com.
