On May 8th, OG Anunoby limped to the locker room, holding his left hamstring during Game 2 against Indiana. He was ruled out for the remainder of Game 2 against the Pacers with left hamstring soreness. He finished with 28 points (10-19 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, and one block in 28 minutes before departing.

Anunoby traveled with the Knicks to Indiana ahead of Game 3 against the Pacers but was ruled out.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau said Sunday ahead of game 4 that Anunoby's hamstring has been doing "pool work" but has yet to resume running.

Anunoby has been ruled out for Game 5 against the Pacers

Dr. Day weighed in and stated that although we do not know the full extent of his hamstring injury, we can infer that it is some level of a strain given the likely mechanism of injury, which includes stretching of the muscle and/or tendon. The decision has to be made on whether to clear him for return now or continue the rest and rehabilitation process so that he is at his full potential later in the playoffs, should the Knicks advance. The key to his return will be getting the inflammation down and gradually getting him back to a high level of play with full confidence in his game.
